Sort of like Herpes actually. Good day all. I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. Last week, I saw a story from “Across the pond” about a really stupid idea from Labour party chief, Jeremy Corbyn.
What is Corbyn’s latest dumb idea? He wants to ban women from going into a pub, (Bar over here), and having a drink or two after work. Why? Because this dumbass thinks it’s “Sexist”. Here are the details regarding this numbskull’s lame idea from Metro:
Jeremy Corbyn has said after-work drinks are ‘sexist’ and should be banned, because women will ‘obviously want to look after their children’.
Oh you did not say that, did you?
Launching his manifesto for women, the Labour leader said: ‘Early evening socialisation benefits men who don’t feel the need to be at home looking after their children, and it discriminates against women who will want to, obviously, look after the children that they have got.’
Yes. ‘Obviously.’
Yes, the moron actually did say that.
Unsurprisingly, the attempt at understanding gender inequality in the workplace fell quite flat.
Many, many people pointed out that it’s quite sexist in itself to assume that looking after kids is a woman’s job.
There are a number of quotes from Twitter that have been posted in the article. Not one of them is in favour of Corbyn’s rather stupid idea. (Please note that I’m using the British spelling when possible, and I remember to in this post. AW)
Matt Chorley, political editor of The Times, told LBC this was ‘classic Corbyn’ – there could be a good idea at the heart, but he blundered his way through it.
Blundered is a nice way of putting it, but then, it is Britain and they do like to understate things.
‘He then went on to say it benefited men who don’t feel the need to be at home with their children and discriminates against “women who will want to, obviously, look after the children they have”,’ Chorley added.
‘So he manages to offend almost everyone by suggesting that being at home with your children is a job for women and that dads aren’t bothered about seeing their children these days. They’re the ones that are quite happy about being in the pub.’
And this is the clown the Labour Party thinks should be Prime Minister? Now I can see why there’s a group in the Labour Party that wants to jettison Corbyn, preferably with enough weights attached that he won’t float back up. And we thought we had problems in our election this year.
