Good day all. The latest in politically correct stupidity has arrived and ESPN, (Entertainment and Sports Programming Networks), has shown just how stupid they are. They removed a sports announcer because he had the last name of “Lee” and as we all know, anyone with that last name is RACIST!
The person who was pulled from calling a college game happens to be named Robert Lee. He’s also Asian. Here’s what’s going on from The Washington Times:
Apparently, even being Asian doesn’t mean people won’t take you for being a white nationalist. ESPN confirmed Tuesday night that it had decided to pull an announcer from calling a University of Virginia football game because his name is Robert Lee. This Robert Lee is Asian.
“We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. In that moment it felt right to all parties,” reads the ESPN statement posted at the popular Fox Sports college-football blog Outkick the Coverage.

No, it felt right to a pack of racist politically correct and cowardly Proglodytes. The general disbelief quickly hit the internet.
“Did I mention that Robert Lee is Asian?” wrote disbelieving blogger Clay Travis, who first broke the story, citing “multiple Outkick fans inside ESPN.”

Mr. Lee had been scheduled to call a game in Charlottseville against William and Mary. I don’t follow college sports and don’t even have ESPN set up on Dish receivers. To be honest, if the Especially Stupid Political Nitwits had just done nothing, no one would have noticed or cared about Mr. Lee. But NOOOO!! ESPN had to fully activate the Streisand Effect.
“It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue,” ESPN said in its statement.
It wasn’t until you morons put your foot deeply into it. Needless to say, people are now going after ESPN with a passion.
That wasn’t the “shame” Mr. Travis had in mind, ridiculing the sports-network leviathan for political correctness, calling it “MSESPN.”
“They were concerned that having an ASIAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER NAMED ROBERT LEE would be offensive to some viewers,” he wrote.
There, how’s that for offending the Antifa thugs and the precious snowflakes who support them?
“Is there anything more pathetic than ESPN believing people would be offended by an Asian guy named Robert Lee sharing a name with Robert E. Lee and calling a football game? Aside from some hysterical photoshops and Internet memes which would make everyone with a functional brain laugh — Robert E. Lee pulling out all the stops to stay in Charlottesville now! — what was the big fear here? Does ESPN really believe people are this dumb or that having an Asian announcer named Robert Lee is too offensive for the average TV viewer to handle?” Mr. Travis asked rhetorically.
We all know the answer, but I’ll let Mr. Travis tell the world.
“Yes, yes they do,” he answered.
This story exploded overnight and I first saw it this morning. Everyone is blasting ESPN for their utterly idiotic reasoning. They have shown that they are fully on board with censoring or banning people simply due to their name. In this they join a group of incredibly stupid college students who want to ban the name “Lynch.” I think it’s time to replace the entire management team at ESPN and put people in place who’s sole job is to put on shows that deal with sports. Gee, wouldn’t that be an original idea?

Geesh. It’s a wonderful old school, but really, William and Mary (and William may not show) against the Hoos. Outside of Central VA, who would watch the game in the first place? And yeah, I might remember Mike Tirico and Todd Blackledge occasionally, but unless they really screw something up, I could not tell you who the announcers were for games I watch 99% of the time. And that’s especially true for a lot of their second string (Looking at you Robert Lee, Rod Gilmore).
