Then end of Mitch McConnell?

Good day all. Senator Mitch McConnell, aka “The Turtle” is currently the Senate Majority Leader. The problem with him is, he’s not to popular and isn’t doing a very good job. Actually, with the exception of keeping Obama’s choice to replace the late Justice Scalia off the Supreme Court, The Turtle’s tenure to date can be summed up with two words. Epic Failure.

McConnell is so unpopular that his polling number ins his home state of Kentucky have cratered. He’s got somewhere between a 9-18% approval rating. If he were coming up for reelection, that would be a “I’m announcing my retirement from public life.” moment. Depending on how things go in 2018, there is a very good chance McConnell will be stripped of his office as Majority Leader.

I don’t see the Proglodyte Democrats actually taking the Senate, just that there is a good chance a number of current members may lose their primaries. Add to that the anticipated losses among the Democrats and you could have a sea change in the Senate. The question is, who will take over for The Turtle if all his Uniparty Cronies get waxed. This is a question asked by The Daily Caller not to long ago:

Should Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell step down from the top position in Congress, Republicans will be looking for someone savvy enough to accomplish a difficult legislative to-do list and trusted by the president.

How about someone who remembers why the Hell they were sent to Washington in the first place and who won’t hesitate to “Crack the whip” on some of the RINO’s who screwed over their constituents. You know, someone like John McSlime.

President Donald Trump has not held back in his repeated criticisms of McConnell. Trump blames him for failing to repeal Obamacare in the first six months that Republicans controlled both the Congress and the presidency.

And President Trump is right to do so. McConnell and the rest of the Beltway Uniparty, (GOP(E) wing), have had years to prepare plans to ditch Obamacare, gut the regulatory agencies, overhaul the immigration system and scrap and rebuild the tax code. Instead, they stood aghast at the fact that Donald Trump won the election and is actually trying to keep his promises. Honestly, If McConnell actually worked for Donald Trump, he would have long ago heard these words:

A Senate majority leader under Trump has a difficult job of working to pass complex legislation, including Obamacare repeal, immigration reform, tax reform and a massive infrastructure spending bill, in a sharply-divided chamber with a slight majority. All without attracting the ire of the commander in chief.

To quote the esteemed Michelle Malkin, “Boo Freaking Hoo!” The problem is, McConnell, Paul Ryno and all the rest of the Establishment Republicans never actually thought Donald Trump would win. The fully expected Felonia von Pantsuit to win and never did any planning other then how to thwart that murderous corrupt bitch.

As to who the Daily Caller thinks might replace The Turtle? Here’s their list of names.

John Cornyn

As the number two in GOP Senate leadership, current Majority Whip Sen. John Cornyn would be the obvious replacement for McConnell.

And right there is why he should not be selected. McCockless’s entire team needs to be sent to the knackers yard. They’re all proven failures.

Thad Cochran

As the second most senior Republican in the Senate, Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi holds a commanding position in the body. He chairs the largest Senate committee, the Committee on Appropriations, overseeing 12 subcommittees.

Another RINO. Yeah, I don’t think so Tim.

Lindsey Graham

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is one of the most outspoken members of the Republican caucus. He’s polished on the Senate floor and knows how to grab headlines.

Oh FUCK NO! That spineless open borders illegal alien loving weasel only won a third term because the primary field challenging him was so large. Most of the Republican base in South Carolina are having a serious case of Buyers Remorse. He’s another RINO that is probably in his final term, although we’re stuck with him until 2020.

Orrin Hatch

Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch is one of the most senior Republicans, and the second most senior senator in the chamber. While he considered retiring in 2018, he decided to stay to help Trump fight against the ingrained Washington establishment.

Yet another Beltway Uniparty twerp. He’s just another bought and paid for shill for the Open Borders, Chamber of Commerce crowd. Honestly, most of the Trump voters just don’t trust him. He should retire in 2018 and spend more time with his family.

Chuck Grassley

Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley has been in the Senate since 1981. He’s proved adept at attracting co-sponsors on his bills and resolutions, ranking third highest for that particular skill in 2015, according to GovTrack.

He’s also older then dirt, and his brain has long since fossilized. 36 years in the Senate? He’s just another poster child for term limits.

Shelley Moore Capito

Having the support of Trump may not be as important as having the respect senators representing Trump supporters, but West Virginia Sen. Shelley Moore Capito has both.

I don’t know anything about Senator Capito. Looking at her Wikipedia page, she definitely has one thing going for her. She isn’t some ancient hack who is terrified of losing her seat. It doesn’t hurt that President Trump seems to like her.

John Barrasso

Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso is a relatively new senator (he was elected in 2006), but in his tenure, he’s served on an impressive number of committees. He now chairs the Committee on the Environment and Public Works and leads the Senate Republican Policy Committee.

Serving on “An impressive number of committees” is not something I would crow about. All it tells me is that there are to many committees. Still, he’s also has the support of President Trump, and he hasn’t been in the senate since the Sun first ignited. As for his opinion of Mitch the Turtle?

Barrasso has “every confidence in Leader McConnell, as does the rest of the conference. His leadership remains indispensable for unity and legislative success this fall,” he said in a statement to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Well, that was…underwhelming. Another term might be “Damning with faint praise.” If I supported someone in leadership, I would be a bit more optimistic in my praise. When I hear someone say “I have every confidence”, it tells me they have no confidence in that person.

Overnight, Fox News posted a story regarding the rift between President Trump and Mitch “The Turtle” McCockless and that they are unified and fully working together. That’s obviously the public statement. Behind the scenes, I have little doubt that President Trump has had enough of McConnell’s inability to get the job done. We shall see what happens in the coming years, and whether or not Mitch McConnell is purged from his position in 2019.

One Response to Then end of Mitch McConnell?

As a Texan, i completely agree about Cornyn. Have you noticed that after years of each and every pic of good ole Mitch showing John to the left of his shoulder, suddenly John is no where to be seen. He is laying low. I’d send him a white feather but don’t want to waste the stamp.
