Viet Trinh!! Good day all. It’s been a while since I did a Stupid Criminal of the week, but this one showed up and I just had to issue this moron a gold star for stupidity.
Trinh’s stupidity didn’t begin with his crime, although that was really stupid in and of itself. No, it’s what this flaming idiot did after he committed his criminal act that demonstrates his obvious difficulties in walking and chewing gum at the same time. Here are the details of this criminal mastermind’s antics from Fox News:
A Colorado teenager faced charges last week after the feds say he posted photos of himself with stolen guns on Facebook.
And what did this blithering idiot do that he thought should be posted on Faceplant?
Viet Trinh, 18, of Thornton, is accused of being part of a smash-and-grab burglary ring that targeted gun shops in the Denver area, according to reports.
But wait! there’s more!! Do you know what it was this disgrace to the gene pool posted on Faceplant? It was an ad to by one of the guns he stole.
“Know anyone that wants to buy a baby .40? $300,” Trinh messaged friends on Facebook on Nov. 11, the day after thieves broke into a Thornton gun shop and stole 25 guns, the Denver Post reported Thursday.
“I got my 9? wit (sic) full clips,” Trinh wrote on Dec. 20, the paper reported, citing federal court papers. “Mixed with poison hallows, regular hallows and strait meadle (sic) jackets.”
The court papers say that when asked by text where he got the weapon, Trinh texted, “A yistol (sic) shop,” according to the paper reported.
So, not only is Viet Trinh a stupid criminal, he’s also a barely literate one as well. As to how the police and federal authorities found this loser, (Oh yes, firearms crimes can and do involve the Feds)
Trinh was arrested Aug. 16 and, during an interview with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives agents, he admitted to being the getaway driver in the Thornton smash and grab.
I wonder if he actually has a license to drive in the first place. I don’t see how he could have passed the written test. It requires being able to read and write in the first place. As to how they found out about his postings, well, someone ratted him out.
An informant told agents Trinh was offering the stolen guns on Facebook under another name.
“Stupid people do stupid things, and that’s why they get caught. And that is a prime example,” Jacob McIntosh, a worker at the South Platte Tactical gun shop in Brighton, told CBS 4 Denver.
McIntosh says agents recovered some of the guns stolen from his store after Trinh was arrested, according to the station.
Good. That means those won’t end up in the hands of bad people like the Antifa and BLM nuts.
Trinh was charged Tuesday in Denver federal court with theft from the inventory of a federal firearms licensee and faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
And he will serve pretty much every day of it too. The Federal legal system doesn’t do much in the way of parole, and convicts usually do most if not all of their sentence. As for Trinh? I think he’s do just fine in a federal penitentiary. He’s going to make his new husband, Bubba very happy.

As one law enforcement officer told me, “Criminals are getting progressively smarter. Cops only catch the dumb ones.” With more and more of these being seen, I have my doubts about his Darwinian theory that they are getting smarter. More plausible is that those too stupid to do anything legal get into crime.
