Good day all. I’ve been watching and occasionally commenting on the I.T, problems the democrats had with their Pakistani technical support contractors. These were a family of Pakistani immigrants with some really shady business dealings.
When the news came out last year that these clowns were stealing computer gear, embezzling and breaking into systems and networks they weren’t authorized to, almost all the democrats they worked for fired them. The one exception was Debbie “Downer” Wasserman Schultz. She continued to keep them on her payroll even after they had been kicked off Capitol Hill. Now reports are coming out that these crooks were also stealing data. Here are the details from Fox News:
A Republican lawmaker on Tuesday described the “massive” data transfers on government servers by a former IT aide to Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz as “a substantial security threat.”
“These facts, standing alone, indicate a substantial security threat,” Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry said of the Imran Awan case during an informal hearing of Republican House members on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.
There’s always been a question about why Debbie Downer refused to fire Imran Awan and his family of felons. In fact, not only did she not fire them, she was actively interfering with the investigation. They finally busted Awan’s ass as he was trying to flee the country.
Awan pleaded not guilty in September to multiple federal charges including bank fraud and conspiracy. A grand jury had returned an indictment in August in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia charging Imran Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, with a total of four charges.
The wife managed to escape back to Pakistan, but is allegedly coming back to face charges. Getting back to the data loss, it looks like Awan and company were ripping through everything they could get their hooks into.
Perry, a member of the Homeland Security subcommittee on cyber security, said Tuesday that the House Office of Inspector General tracked the network usage of Awan and his associates on House servers and found that a “massive” amount of data was flowing from the networks.
According to Perry, more than 5,700 logins by the five Awan associates were discovered on a single server within the House and 5,400 of those logins appeared unauthorized.
I see someone wasn’t smart enough to clean up the log files. So who’s server were they rampaging through?
That server, Perry said, belonged to then-Democratic Rep. Xavier Becerra, who is now attorney general in California.

The case has put renewed scrutiny on Wasserman Schultz for keeping Awan on the payroll for months, even after a criminal investigation was revealed and he was barred from the House IT network.
Debbie Downer has a ready excuse for everything of course.
In a recent interview published in the Sun Sentinel, Wasserman Schultz blamed the “right-wing media circus fringe” for the attention on Awan. The former head of the Democratic National Committee has suggested it’s all part of an effort to distract from the investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign and possible ties to President Trump’s team.
Yes, she went there. The witch hunt investigation into Russia’s alleged meddling and the “Collusion” by the Trump campaign has been going on for the better part of a year and come up with a massive…nothing. The initial investigation into the Aswan Cartel took a few weeks and they found enough to criminally charge them. The data breaches into the house network appear to have hit sensitive, and possibly secret information. It appears it was copied off the network, and probably ended up in the hands of Pakistani intelligence. (Those are the rumors I’ve read in any case)
As for Debbie Waserman Schultz, the question now is, “What did she know, when did she know it and just what did Aswan have on her that caused her to do all the things she did trying to protect him?” If it comes out that Aswan was blackmailing Debbie Downer, she’s going to be in almost as much trouble as the Aswan clan.
