Good day all. Last year, a mediocre actor by the name of Jussie Smollett set up a fake hate crime with himself as the victim. The Chicago Police Department investigated, and quickly came to the conclusion that Smollett had cooked the whole thing up, and then charged him with lying to police.
Smollett had the charges dropped thanks to a corrupt State Attorney, (What we think of as a District Attorney). This led to the Chicago police raising hell, and a special prosecutor was named to investigate everything about this disaster of a case. The special prosecutor, Dan Webb, has come back with indictments against Smollett. Here are the details from Fox News:
Jussie Smollett has been indicted by a grand jury on six counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly lying to police about his claims of a racist and homophobic attack against him in January 2019, a special prosecutor said Tuesday.
Special prosecutor Dan Webb issued a statement announcing the indictment against the 37-year-old former “Empire” star.
Meanwhile, Smollett’s lawyer is trying once again to get this has been off the hook.
Smollett’s attorney, Tina Glandian, said in a statement on Tuesday: “This indictment raises serious questions about the integrity of the investigation that led to the renewed charges against Mr. Smollett, not the least of which is the use of the same CPD detectives who were part of the original investigation into the attack on Mr. Smollett to conduct the current investigation, despite Mr. Smollett’s pending civil claims against the City of Chicago and CPD officers for malicious prosecution. And one of the two witnesses who testified before the grand jury is the very same detective Mr. Smollett is currently suing for his role in the initial prosecution of him.”
Of course they would talk to the original detectives. They’re the ones who did all the work. In case this stupendous thundercunt forgot, the police originally believed Smollett. The whole thing blew up when they found a couple of people who Smollett hired to make it look like white Trump supporters were responsible, then split for Nigeria. When they came back, they were arrested and quickly flipped on the idiot. (If I recall correctly, they had already left the country when Smollett played his game and didn’t know what he was actually up to)
The statement continued: “After more than five months of investigation, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has not found any evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever related to the dismissal of the charges against Mr. Smollett. Rather, the charges were appropriately dismissed the first time because they were not supported by the evidence. The attempt to re-prosecute Mr. Smollett one year later on the eve of the Cook County State’s Attorney election is clearly all about politics not justice.”
No they were dismissed because of the corrupt actions of Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx.
Cook County Judge Michael Toomin in August appointed Webb, a former U.S. attorney, as a special prosecutor to look into why the charges were dropped. Webb was also charged with looking into whether Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx‘s calls with a Smollett relative and an ex-aide of former first lady Michelle Obama unduly influenced the decision to drop charges. Foxx recused herself from the case but continued to weigh in.
It became obvious that Foxx did everything she could to get the charges dismissed and in such a way that they couldn’t be refiled. This crooked lawyer is actually running for re-election. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Democratic CommuNazis in Illinois might be quietly working to throw her under a bus.
There have been a number civil suits files on both sides, with Chicago looking to recover the costs of the initial investigation int the fake hate crime cooked up by Smollett. As for Smollett’s career as an actor? He dreamed up this stunt to try and make himself look sympathetic because he felt that his career was stagnating and he was going to be written off a show he was on.
Initially, it worked with all the usual moonbats in Hollywood coming to his defense and, as usual, blaming anyone who supported President Trump for what happened. When Smollett was busted for faking the whole thing, most of the usual suspects, with the exception of some utterly delusional types, walked away from Smollett. Now his career, which might have hit a speed bump, is dead and buried. I don’t know what the penalties are for the crimes he’s been indicted for, but I hope he spends some serious quality time in a nice prison somewhere.
