The Great Panicdemic of 2020: Firearms are considered critical infrastructure

Good day all. Thanks to the panicked actions of politicians, for all intents and purposes, the United States economy is shut down. However, there are a number of industries that are considered to be “Critical” in this time of Panicdemic.

For instance, Information Technology workers, such as myself, are considered to be critical, as are hosting companies and many tech companies. We, for the most part, have the ability to work from home and have been doing so for several weeks.

Next we have the transportation and delivery companies. The Angry Significant Other works for a shipping and receiving company so she has to go to work every day, although she thinks her job may close down. There are many others. However, there is one industry that Progressive Liberal Democrats do NOT consider to be critical and in a few regions, have ordered shut down. This would be the firearms industry. However, President Trump has declared firearms to be critical. Here are the details from the New York Post:

The Trump administration has added the firearms industry — gun shops included — to a federal list of critical infrastructure during the ongoing coronavirus emergency.

The new language, added Saturday to the website of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, now deems as critical

Workers supporting the operation of firearm or ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, and shooting ranges.”

It was met with praise by the group “Gun Owners of America,” which said in a statement Saturday that it is encouraged President Trump’s administration is not ignoring “the ability to protect yourself” during the emergency.

While there are no comments from the Progressive Liberal Democrats, there have been reports around the country of politicians ordering gun stores shut down. In my state, New Hampshire, just the opposite happened. Gun shops and ranges were declared critical by Governor Sununu when he issued his lock down order.

Now that this is a federal recommendation, it will be interesting to see how the Progressive Liberal Democratic CommuNazis react. I only recently noticed that Ammunition supplies were on the low side. Not as bad as during the Obama maladministration, where there was a belief he would order a general confiscation, but I haven’t been able to get my preferred brand. (Federal Syntech)

I have enough to deal with any potential zombie outbreak, however, I can burn through several hundred rounds when I go to the range. I can get what I need in the calibers I use, however I consider them to be inferior to my preferred choices. I’ve also noted that firearm sales are skyrocketing again, although this time it isn’t due to the worry the president will try and confiscate them. It seems that people who have never owned a gun are also worried about Zombies and want to be ready in case they show up.

In any case, it’s nice to see that President Trump considers the 2nd Amendment to be a critical part of our national infrastructure. Hopefully, the stoke I have in several firearms manufacturers will start going up.
