Good day all. Today is the American Independence day, the original “Brexit.” 244 years ago, the American colonies told the King George III to “Piss Off!” On that day, the greatest nation in history was created.
It wasn’t as simple as telling the British Crown that we were leaving. The King and Parliament had something to say about it. This led to a serious shooting war and the British finally lost it all at the Seige of Yorktown.
With our independence came the usual growing pains. The first constitution, called the Article of Confederation was out first attempt at a constitution. It didn’t work out to well, so they came up with the Constitution, (As amended), and we have been living under that document ever since.
Today, we face a crisis not seen since the 1850’s. We are seeing a concerted effort by one party, to crush everything that made America great. Over the last few months, we have seen a concerted effort by, bluntly, Communists and their fellow travelers to turn the United States into a fractured totalitarian, single party state.
People like to see analogies in history and I do see one. The Antifa and BLM groups are, either intentionally or unintentionally, mimicking exactly how the Nazi Party in Germany achieved power with all the horrors that brought. Of course, that sort of history is no longer taught in American schools these days. (Can’t have the young skulls full of much learn actual history and how to think for themselves don’t you know)
There are people who look at how the Left Wing is acting and are worried that there will be an event that leads to a civil war. I believe the second American Civil War began in November 2016, when Donald J. Trump defeated Felonia von Pantsuit and became the President of the United States.
The Democrat Party, along with their Deep State conspirators in the “Never Trump” wing of the Republican party began a concerted effort to destroy President Trump. Now that their coup attempt, culminating in the Impeachment failed, they unleashed their mobs. These thugs have been emulating all the totalitarian parties of the last hundred years, from the Taliban to the Communists and the Nazis. (With a side order of Fascism to go)
Over the last few weeks, these people have decided that anything tied to the founding of the United States, including statues of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and others must be destroyed. What is amazing is how the “Alt-Right” groups have not been out confronting these scum.
I can see the reasoning for it. To begin with, those groups do believe in the Constitution and the Rule of Law, and, with very few exceptions, flat out don’t give a damn about someone’s skin color or eye shape. They also don’t want to be pushed into doing something they don’t want to have to do. Opening fire on these leftist morons. They are working within the system to maintain the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
The next issue we’ve been having is the response by most of the state governors to the China Virus. These morons took an economy that was exploding upwards and crashed it. Originally, the lock-downs they ordered, under questionable constitutionality, was meant to give hospitals the time they needed to clear beds in preparation of a massive influx of critically ill patients. It was meant to last no more then 2-3 weeks.
Instead it’s been ongoing for over 3 MONTHS, and in some cases, with no end in sight. The expected flood of patients never happened, and the worst clusters were caused by some of Democrat governors in what have become known as the “Blue States.” Since states began opening up, there has been a rise in people testing positive. What isn’t being reported, and appears of being actively covered up, is that the new cases are either asymptomatic or so mild that most people think it’s just a summer cold or mild flu.
This has allowed a few governors, mostly Democrat, (But including a few Republicans), to indulge in their inner Fascist and throw the rights of the individual right into the trash. The problem for a lot of these closet tyrants is that their subjects still considered themselves citizens and are fighting back, primarily in the courts, and in many cases by flat out ignoring the diktats of the political class. I suspect there is going to be a major wake up call in November for many of these politicians.
America has weathered storms such as these for almost 250 years, and I suspect we will weather the current situation. Will it get bloody? I hope to God it doesn’t, but I won’t be surprised if “Bad things” happen. No one, other then some real loons, want the Boogaloo to actually kick off. If you think the 1861-65 unpleasantness was bad, a second Civil War will be infinitely worse.
In conclusion, reflect on what makes America both great and unique. Enjoy the day and try not to blow off to many digits with the fireworks almost everyone has bought for the festivities. As for me, I’m off to a BBQ with family and friends.
