And that’s all she wrote for Sleepy Sessions

Good day all. Tuesday, July 14th, was Primary Day in Alabama. One of the offices being sought was United States Senator. There were several people looking to be the Republican nominee, including the man who formally held the seat, Jeff “Sleepy Sessions.

Sessions gave up his seat when President Trump made one of the few major mistakes of his presidency and appointed Sessions to be the Attorney General. One of the things President Trump wanted was someone to clean up the Department of Justice and keep a tight leash on the Russia investigations. Instead, Sleepy Sessions recused himself and turned everything over to Rod Rodentstain who give us the Mueller Inquisition. President Trump finally corrected his error and fired Sleepy Sessions.

Now Sessions seat had been won by Democrat Doug Jones. Jones is expected to have his head handed to him in November. Sessions, rather then just fading away, decided he wanted back into the Swamp and ran in the Primary. Well the results are in and the news is not good for Old Sleepy. Here are the details from Fox News:

Tommy Tuberville and President Trump were the winners in Tuesday’s Republican Senate primary runoff in Alabama.

Tuberville, a first-time politician and former Auburn University football coach, defeated former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions thanks, in part, to an endorsement from the president. The Associated Press projected Tuberville as the winner in the election about 90 minutes after the polls closed in Alabama.

Sessions — who was fighting for his political life — was also fending off the ire of the president. He served a dozen years as a senator from Alabama before becoming Trump’s first attorney general in 2017, but Sessions angered the president by recusing himself that year from the Russia investigation into the 2016 election.

President Trump has stated that if he knew that Sessions was going to pull that recusal stunt, he would never have appointed him. Because of that and other reasons, Sessions and Trump are not on good terms. This paid dividends for Sleepy’s opponent, Tommy Tuberville.

On Saturday, after Trump tweeted that “Jeff Sessions is a disaster who has let us all down. We don’t want him back in Washington!” – Sessions returned fire – calling Trump’s tweets “juvenile insults” and emphasizing that “Alabama does not take orders from Washington.”

No, it doesn’t, however, if the RINO’s and Democrats get their way, it will. In the end, it was the Republican voters of Alabama who made the final decision, and they decided that Sleepy Sessions political career needed to be “Put to sleep.” Tuberville defeated Sessions, 67% to 39%. In other words, it wasn’t even close. What it was, was a vindication for President Trump and a humiliating end to Jeff Sessions political career.
