Hello everyone, this is the Angry Systems Administrator, bringing you a small update on the status of the Blog. Over the last month or so, we’ve seen a number of links to Fox News, older ones to be sure, suddenly come up as invalid and throwing 404 not found errors.
It looks like Fox is purging older content, or moving it to some sort of archive. The problem with this is sites like this one suddenly lose the links to the stories they’ve been referring to. Thankfully, we have the Internet Archive available, and when we see links go bad, we switch over to the archive’s link.
The problem with this is that it is time consuming. I would estimate that in the last 3 weeks, the Angry Webmaster, (Who sees these error messages more then I do), has had to redirect over 500 older Fox News links to the Internet Archive. In a few cases, even they didn’t have anything, and we had to disconnect the link.
If you happen to stumble on a broken link, rest assured, we will also see it and take whatever corrective actions we can.
