Good day all. While I was prepping another blog post, I came across this story out of New York. It demonstrates what real heroes are. These are people who will put themselves in harms way to protect the innocent, especially children, unlike criminals and cowards who hide behind the innocent.
As you know, thanks to the policies of Progressive Liberal Moonbats, decent people are forbidden the tools guaranteed them under the Constitution of the United States to protect themselves and defend the innocent. However, criminals have no such problem getting those same tools to cause harm to the innocent. Last week, a former soldier took a bullet while shielding children from the actions of some trigger happy crackheads in Harlem. Here are the details from American Military News:
A U.S. Army veteran was struck by a stray bullet on Tuesday while shielding children on a sidewalk after gunfire broke out in East Harlem, New York.
Wilbert Grier, 59, was hit in the upper body when an altercation between two groups of young men led to an exchange of gunfire on Fifth Avenue and East 118th Street. According to the New York Post, Grier said “the adrenaline kicked in” and he jumped into action to protect a group of children playing nearby.
“We had to shield the kids, because they were shooting this way,” he said. “We had kids playing [outside] and then we had kids inside the store.”
“I knew I was hit, but I knew that I might have to take another one, for the kids,” he continued.
Once the shooting was over and the children were safe, Mr. Grier was taken to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. As for the scumbags shooting at everything in sight?
On Wednesday, law enforcement arrested 18-year-old Jabari Albright and charged him with attempted murder in connection with the shooting. In surveillance footage reviewed by The Post, a gunman is seen shooting on the sidewalk in broad daylight, firing across the street as a group of people take cover and flee on foot down the street.
More’s the pity that they just didn’t put this rabid dirtbag down. This is the problem with the Communist controlled cities and states. They actively deny people the means to protect themselves and others, and use incidents like this as a means to increase their power and suppress the rights of the citizens.
In an effort to combat gun violence in the city, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency for gun violence earlier this month, marking the first of its kind ever enacted in the United States, the governor’s office said.
That state of emergency will work out about as well as his last one. I wonder how many people Flaming Cuomo is going to kill this time? Obviously, 15,000+ senior citizens weren’t enough to sate his bloodlust.
As for Mr’s Grier, it looks like he’s back home and the bullet didn’t do to much damage. A tip of the hat, a free beer, (If he imbibes), and a hearty pat on the back for him. If her were still in uniform, this probably would have gotten him the Soldiers Medal. Without a doubt, if President Trump heard about this, Mr. Grier would have been invited to the White House. Somehow, I doubt this is something Dementia Joe is even considering, if he’s aware of the incident, or what color his socks are.
