Good day all. This story is still ongoing, but worth writing about. Elon Musk, who is, on paper, the richest man on Earth, has just bought a large stake in Twitter. This comes after he asked people if they thought that Twitter adhered to the idea of Free Speech. The response was overwhelmingly “NO!”
The follow up responses offered suggestions to Mr. Musk. They ranged from building his own platform to buying Twitter. Monday Elon Musk announced that he had just bought 9.2% of the shares in Twitter, making him the largest single shareholder in the company.
When the announcement came out, the crowd, as they say, went wild. The stock price went up and the progressives heads went “POP!” Here are some of the early details from Post Millennial:
Elon Musk has become one of the largest shareholders in social media giant Twitter after a filing with the Security and Exchange Commission showed he holds 9.2 percent of a stake in the company.
This comes after it was rumored that Musk might be in the market to buy Twitter and secure the holding for free speech in America, following CEO Parag Agrawal’s claim that Twitter is not beholden to American free speech laws.
That statement by Agrawal was back in November after Jack Dorsey stepped down from the role of CEO. Dorsey had been, (and continues to be), hammered over Twitler’s blatant suppression of conservatives or anything that doesn’t support the Progressive viewpoint. When Argrawal took over, he basically threw down the gauntlet and told the United States that as far as he was concerned, Twitter could do whatever it liked, and has proceeded to do so.
Musk said in March that he was “giving serious thought” to building an alternative social media platform to Twitter. In response to a question from another Twitter user about if Musk would consider building out a new platform, the Tesla and Space X founder said “Am giving serious thought to this.”
It looks like Musk figured out that it was much easier to just buy an existing property, Twitler, then it would be to build out a new platform from the ground up. This is the view of Fox Business News:
Elon Musk disclosed a 9.2% stake in Twitter on Monday, sending the company’s stock soaring more than 25%. But some analysts don’t see the Tesla chief executive stopping there. Though the billionaire’s stake in the social media company is considered passive, some Wall Street analysts believe Musk has much more planned for Twitter’s long-term strategy.

While Musk has expressed interest in building a rival to Twitter, CFRA Research senior equity analyst Angelo Zino warns that a potential all-out buyout of the company could still be on the table.
“While a passive stake by Musk won’t change TWTR’s fundamentals, we do think his investment will drive greater interest from consumers,” Zino wrote in a note to clients on Monday. “Musk’s actual investment (less than $3B) is a very small percentage of his wealth and an all-out buyout should not be ruled out.”
Actually, Elon Musk would not need to do a complete buyout of all the stock. That would imply he was taking the company private. Instead, all he needs to do is buy 50% plus one share and he now has complete control of Twitter, and that would be far less expensive then trying to buy out all the shareholders. If he did this, some of the fall out would be the removal of the CEO and the current management structure. I could see Musk calling President Trump and asking if he was open to a temporary contract job.
This brings up the current CEO and all around totalitarian fascist scum, Parag Argawal. I have a sneaking suspicion that when the news broke that Elon Musk was not the largest shareholder in Twitler, he soiled himself. In another story from Fox Business News:
Twitter announced Tuesday it’s appointing Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk to its board, expanding the billionaire’s influence during the ongoing debate over lack of free speech on the platform.
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted the announcement Tuesday, writing that “Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.”
“He’s both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome Elon!” he added.
That sounds an awful lot like “Please don’t fire me Mr. Musk! I’ll be good, I promise!

There have been a lot of reactions regarding Musk’s stake in Twitler and the potential of him taking full control of the company at some point in the future. Some of it, primarily from the employees of Twitler, has been on the negative side. Here are some details from Red State:
As the western world celebrates Tesla CEO Elon Musk becoming the largest shareholder in the online “de-facto public square,” some of the employees at Twitter aren’t at all pleased about the development.
And no wonder. Twitter is something of a hard-left cesspool encased in an ideological bubble so thick that they seem to think death threats against anyone to the right of Marx is a-okay.
The article on Red State has Andy Ngo, who has been, to be blunt, targeted by the likes of Twitter and Antifa for beatings and death, go through the twitter feed and pull a few tweets from employees. They generally are about what you would expect. For example:
One “data scientist” on Twitter describing himself as a “Feminist Demisexual Genderqueer Trans Woman,” said he was “terrified” while a Senior Software Engineer said he worried about the “company culture” at Twitter.
The hypocrisy of these woke moonbats is a joy to see. Their stock has climbed because of Musk’s purchase, and yet they are aghast that this icon of the free markets dared to enter their innermost sanctum of Progressive Wokeness. If Elon Musk does decide to “Go for the Gold” as it were and buys a controlling share of the company, the cranial detonations will be a joy to behold.
Another thing that would happen is Musk restoring all the conservatives that have been booted from the platform for engaging in “Bad Speech,” starting with the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump. I also would expect that the Communist Community Standards that the losers in Twitter love to use to boot people will be themselves booted from the platform.
Free speech is just that. You either accept the bad with the good, or you move you North Korea where you won’t need to worry about anything including hearing things that go against the “Company Line.” The only things that would and should be removed are those things that are blatantly illegal. (Kiddie porn for starters) I think the next few months are going to be very entertaining in the world known as Twitter.
