Who is drinking Bud Light? Apparently, no one. Sales down yet again!

Good day all. This has become a standing headline, which is the last thing that Transheuser-Busch wants to see. Once again, Bud Light sales are down from the previous year.

I’ve been commenting, and making snide remarks regarding Bud Light since the entire Dylan Mulvaney debacle blew up all over the internet. I don’t need to go over what caused the current collapse in sales of Bud Light, and apparently other Transheuser-Busch products. It’s so bad that Transheuser-Busch is cutting the prices, offering rebates and buying back out of date products from their distributors.

Transheuser-Busch still hasn’t gotten the message it seems. According to a story by Newsmax:

The beer company, fighting to recover from the backlash, told its customers, “We hear you.” But in a statement posted on the company website, Brendan Whitworth, Anheuser-Busch’s CEO, offered no apology for the controversy.

“To all our valued consumers, we hear you,” he said. “Our summer advertising launches next week, and you can look forward to Bud Light reinforcing what you’ve always loved about our brand — that it’s easy to drink and easy to enjoy.

“As we move forward, we will focus on what we do best — brewing great beer and earning our place in moments that matter to you.”

We are currently approaching the 4th of July long weekend. Memorial Day was a sales disaster for Bud Light as well as other brands under the AB InBev holding company and Transheuser-Busch specifically. How bad is it? I was at my local supermarket and I took a look at the stacks of Bud Light cases sitting there unsold. They were offering a $15 rebate on beer that was marked down. I had to take a picture because no one would believe what I saw.

Yep, it looks like they can’t even give it away. I suspect the sales numbers for the 4th of July weekend are going to be the worst they’ve ever seen. I do feel sorry for the distributors. It really isn’t their fault that AB InBev and Transheuser-Busch decided that going Woke was the way to improve sales. Perhaps they can start delivering Yuengling Beer.

  1. Diane Guinn says:

Here’s a tidbit I read the other day… . New York’s Harlem neighborhood is thought by many to be the birthplace of drag balls in the 1860s. There, Black queer and trans residents donned dresses and wigs to perform in a safe, creative environment. (One theory about the origin of the term “drag” is that it referenced the way gowns “dragged” across the floor; another is that it derived from Polari, a slang-y language used frequently by queer British men…)
