Well that took long enough. The Transheuser-Busch marketing geniuses have been fired

Good day all. Last Spring, Bud Light announced the “Year of the Girl” and instead of a young woman, selected a mentally ill man in a dress as Bud Light’s spokes….thing. When the news came out, sales of Bud Light cratered.

The genius who came up with this stupid idea, Alissa Heinerscheid, along with her superior Daniel Blake, were “Suspended.” As sales continued to plummet and the calls #BoycottBud took hold, the corporate value of Transheuser-Busch, formally named Ansheuser-Busch along with their holding company AB InBev dropped by tens of billions of dollars. Now the news has come that these two examples of what not to do have been FIRED! Here are the details from the Daily Caller:

The two top Anheuser-Busch marketing executives who were placed on leave amid the company shakeup no longer work for the brand, a source inside Anheuser-Busch confirmed in texts obtained by the Daily Caller on Tuesday.

Group Vice President for Marketing Daniel Blake and Bud Light Marketing Vice President Alissa Heinerscheid are “gone gone,” according to obtained text messages with a current regional head of marketing. The Caller is granting anonymity to the source to discuss legally fraught internal company policy.

To my understanding if we publicly announced the word ‘fire’ it opens up the potential for them to sue us. Thats why we said leave of absence,” the source said in a text message obtained by the Caller.

That does make sense of course. At that level in the Corporate world, when they can a “C” Level executive, they announce that they are “Seeking other opportunities elsewhere,” or “Have decided to spend more time with their family.” They also generally get what the rest of us don’t, a golden parachute.

The wholesalers would have had an absolute HAY DAY with leadership if they didn’t remove her,” the source inside the company also said.

A Hay Day? More like outright war with AB InBev and Transheuser-Busch. The distributors have been taking it up the ass and have been forced to throw out expired Bud products. (Transheuser-Busch has been buying the expired beer back from the distributors)

To be fair- Daniel Blake was actually awesome. I think he was just caught in cross fire. But also he did hire her… so that’s a fault,” the source continued.

Yep he is at fault. He should have put a stop to her idiot idea before it went out. That means that he either agreed with it or he didn’t know about it. If the former, he helped cause massive losses to the share value of the company. If the latter, he is incompetent.

Wholesalers were told they are both gone for good by leadership during in person conversations. They already shifted all their direct reports to new people and the head of marketing,” the source added in another text message obtained by the Caller.

The Daily Caller reached out to Transheuser-Busch for a comment, but they didn’t rely right away. When they did, the Daily caller updated the story.

Update: 3:35pm ET: After the given deadline, Anheuser-Busch reached out with the following statement and did not address any of the questions asked by the Caller:

Given the circumstances, Alissa has decided to take a leave of absence which we support. In the interest of our employees’ safety and privacy, we’re not providing any additional information. Daniel is taking a leave of absence. In the interest of our employees’ safety and privacy, we’re not providing any additional information,” an Anheuser-Busch spokesperson said.

And that’s their story and they’re sticking to it. Now in the olden days before all this WOKE and PC crap, there wouldn’t have been any “Taking a leave of absence” nonsense. They would have come right out and said We have terminated her employment and escorted her from the premises.” No fuss, no muss, over and done.

I expect that management and HR are working on the actual exit package, but I don’t see either of these two coming back. While it is possible that Daniel Blake might manage a soft landing somewhere, I think that Alissa Heinerscheid’s next job will be asking “Would you like fries with your order?” Her dumb idea is going to be a classic in marketing school on what not to do. Thanks to her, Bud Light may have to be killed off as a product.
