Good day all. Gun sales have been running around a million+ a month for a number of years. This has, as usual, driven the Democrats nuts. Recent events have now caused another spike in the acquisition of firearms, mostly by first time buyers looking to have the tools they need to protect themselves.
There have been two events in the last month that are driving gun sales higher. First was the nutcase in Maine. The basic details on that are simple. He was in the national guard/reserves and was going around the bend to the point his command had him disarmed and committed. By all current laws, this should have kept him from getting guns, but surprising no one, it didn’t.
The next incident second incident was the October 7th attack by Hamas into Israel. Israel, up to that point, had been disarming it’s citizens and no one had the means to fight back. The few cases where people did have weapons, in many cases they thwarted the terrorists, either in total or bought time for people to escape. (Israel appears to be seriously rethinking their gun policies) Add to this the threats by the Progressive Liberal Hamas supporting Democrats and you’re now seeing Jews looking to utilize their 2nd Amendment rights. Here are a few details on this from Newsmax:
Gun sales spiked 8.3% year-over-year in October, with a clear link to the massacre of Jews in Israel and the Maine mass shootings as impetuses for the increase, according to firearms industry analysis.
There are quotes from people being interviewed in Maine, which is a constitutional carry state, that they wish they had guns when the whackjob was running around loose. Others who did own guns were loading up just in case. One of the unreported stories was that the bowling alley was a gun free zone. If anyone there had a gun, they obeyed the rules and didn’t bring it in with them.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation said its adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) made last month the third-highest October on record (2020, 2021) for sales. The raw FBI NICS figures show an 11.4 increase from October 2022. It’s also a jump of 150,264 background checks from September, according to the FBI database.
“This is telling, given the stark reminders of the importance of the Second Amendment protecting the right for law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms and protect themselves and their loved ones,” NSSF spokesman Mark Oliva said. “The horrific attacks on Israel followed by the escalating hate speech toward Jewish Americans, coupled with the tragic murders in Maine, are reminders that every American has the right to legally purchase a firearm to provide for their own defense.”
Sadly, I expect to see at least one defensive use of a firearm by someone who is Jewish or someone who is not Jewish but is standing by to help them if needed. There is also the very real problem of all the illegal aliens that the Biden Maladministration has let in. They’ve caught a few on the terrorist watch list, but how many did they miss? At least one it seems.
Further, gun rights activists have seen an uptick from Jewish Americans since Hamas’ slaughter of more than 1,400 in Israel, more than 800 of those civilians, beginning Oct. 7.
“We are frequently faced with responding to antisemitic attacks, but I can say that from what our organization has seen firsthand, the last week and a half has certainly been the largest spike,” Rabbi Yossi Eilfort, president of the Jewish non-profit Magen Am, told The Reload last month. “The day that the attack happened, we had 638 calls to our hotline number from Sunday to Thursday of last week, which for a small organization like us is a lot to balance. On an average week, I’d say we maybe get 40 or 50. All of last year, we had around 950 calls to that hotline.”
I had never heard of the organization Magen Am, so I looked them up. They are a California based group, which means they are dealing with the flagrant violation of the Constitution by the Democrats. (Democrats hate the idea of people having guns and being able to use them to protect themselves, and of late, especially Jews. Therefore, Jews should buy guns and learn to use them in a safe manner) I wonder if they accept non-Jews as members willing to help out?
The mass shooting in Maine that left 18 dead sparked the rote response of the left for more laws and stricter gun control. However, a survey released last week show Americans would like to see existing laws enforced first.
According to Rasmussen Reports, 57% of those surveyed chose enforcement of current gun laws over the 33% who said they’d like to see new laws. Further, 49% said they don’t think stricter laws would prevent shootings like the one in Maine.
First, most polls these days aren’t as accurate as they were 20+ years ago. Second, the questions asked need to be reviewed to see if they’re loaded ones. Saying that, people are now seeing that keeping the law abiding from getting a gun is doing nothing to stop criminals and crazies. While the Democrat Propaganda Corps refuses to cover such incidents, every time a good guy with a gun was on scene, the bad guy with the gun was usually stopped and pretty quickly. In fact, you will see a lot of these Leftist media types flat out lie about how often this happens.
It’s a said day that Jews in this country need to be worried about antisemitism. I thought we had pretty much dealt with that crap in the 1940’s. What no one considered until now was just he deeply ingrained in the minds of the Socialists and Communists in the schools hatred of Jews, (In fact pretty much anyone who won’t to the Marxist line), is. Fortunately, we have the 2nd Amendment in this country, and despite the actions of corrupt judges, the Amendment is being seen for what it is. Protection against the government denying our right to keep and bear arms.
