Good day all. This is a breaking story, so of course, the 72 hour rule is now in effect. Arizona Senator Krysten Sinema, (Democrat then Independent), has announced that she won’t be seeking reelection.
Sinema broke with the Democrat Party in 2022 and there has been a lot of speculation on her running for reelection as an independent. That is now resolved. Here are the details from Fox News:
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced on Super Tuesday that she will not seek reelection when her first term ends next year.
That would be only term Fox. Please try and be accurate.
The move from Sinema, an Arizonian who switched her party affiliation from Democrat to Independent in 2022, leaves the race narrowed between Republican candidate Kari Lake and Democrat Ruben Gallego.
“Our democracy was weakened by government dysfunction and the constant pull to the extremes by both political parties,” Sinema said in a video announcement posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “I promised I would do my best to fix it.”
I hate to tell you this, but you were part of the problem. You had a tendency to vote in lockstep with the Democrats even after you left the party.
She added: “The only political victories that matter these days are symbolic – attacking your opponents on cable news or social media. Compromise is a dirty word. We’ve arrived at that crossroad, and we chose anger and division. I believe in my approach. But it’s not what America wants right now.”
Sinema was one of the Senators who was pushing the combined Ukraine/border security bill that was shot down recently. Sinema did understand, to some extent, that the border was out of control, but instead of just putting through two separate bills, she pushed that single bill which was absolutely God awful. Now that’s she’s bailing out, she’s receiving all sorts of bipartisan accolades.
Her colleagues across the political spectrum thanked Sinema for her work in the Senate. “She’s worked really hard. And we got a lot of really important legislation done because of her hard work and tenacity,” Sen. Mark Kelly, R-Ariz., told Fox News Digital. He called her choice not to seek reelection a “big loss.”
Frankly, it’s no loss at all and could be a major gain. Instead of a three way race for the seat, it’s now down to Kari Lake and some communist named Ruben Gallego. It appears that Sinema was pulling Republicans away from Lake, which would have put the Gallego into the Senate. Now things aren’t looking so good for him and the panic is starting to set in.
In a post to X, written in Spanish, Gallego said, “I want to thank @SenatorSinema for serving our state for almost two decades.”
He then pivoted to the general election in his statement, saying, “Arizona, we are at a decisive moment.”
“It is time for Democrats, independents and Republicans to come together and reject Kari Lake and her dangerous positions. For Arizona,” he continued.
The fact that this fool posted in Spanish pretty much says why he needs to be rejected. Add to that he votes the Biden Agenda 100% of the time, which includes open borders and economic devastation. Now there will be a real race and with luck, and if someone keeps a close eye on the RINO’s and TransRepublicans in Maricopa County, the Republican party has a good chance of flipping the seat. We shall see of course.
