Trump selects his new FBI Director, Kash Patel

Good day all. Now that President Trump has filled his cabinet, he’s starting down the list of non-cabinet posts. At the top is firing and replacing the current director of the FBI, Christopher Wray. Wray was originally appointed by President Trump in his first administration and the idea was that he would clean up the mess left by James Comey. Instead, Wray doubled down and the FBI is now seen as a direct threat to the American People.

I won’t bother going into all the things Wray did. Obviously, the most egregious was the FBI Panty Raid on Melania Trump’s underwear draw at Mar-a-lago. That Wray allowed it to happen in the first place was bad enough. The complete lack of professionalism by the agents was disgraceful. This and a whole host of other things made it a foregone conclusion that if he was re-elected. Christopher Wray was heading for the unemployment line. Now his replacement has been announced. Here are the details from Fox News:

President-elect Trump has named longtime ally Kashyap “Kash” Patel, who has been a frequent and harsh critic of the FBI, to serve as the bureau’s next director in the new administration.

I will state that until now, I don’t think I had ever heard of Mr. Patel. I certainly don’t know very much about him. It seems that there are a lot of people who do know about him and they seem to think he’s perfect for the job. Then there are the “Usual Suspects” on the left who are aghast and the thought of Mr. Patel running the FBI.

Patel, 44, is an attorney with experience in national security, intelligence and counterterrorism and helped uncover the bureau’s surveillance of the Trump campaign and first term. He has been a member of Trump’s transition team, advising the administration on other appointments.

I wonder if he knows about Brandon Herrera and how he should be appointed Destructor Director of the BATF?

Trump announced Patel’s appointment in a Truth Social post on Saturday.

“Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People,” Trump’s statement read. “He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution.”

I wasn’t aware that Mr. Patel helped uncover the Felonia von Pantsuit paid for fake Russia dossier that the Democrats and Never Trump RINO’s used against the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump. That would explain Adam Schiffhead’s reaction to this news. Here are a few of those details from Breitbart:

Incoming California Senator Rep. Adam Schiff (D) demanded Sunday that the Senate reject the nomination of Kash Patel to be director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), continuing a long personal vendetta against Patel.

Schiff has been trying to destroy Patel ever since 2017, when Patel helped expose the fact that members of the outgoing Obama administration abused their power to “unmask” the names of Americans caught on foreign wiretaps, a practice that was thought to have led to the unjust firing and prosecution of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn over false allegations of collusion with Russia.

Schiff, then the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, wrote a memorandum in which he attempted, unsuccessfully, to counter the claims of the Republican majority that the FBI’s surveillance of Carter Page, an aide to then-candidate Donald Trump, was justified.

Schiff’s claims were later debunked by a report by the Department of Justice Inspector General, which validated Republican concerns about the abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court by the FBI in its efforts to target Trump.

I can see why Schiff might be a bit concerned about Kash Patel becoming the next director of the FBI. However, as the old commercial goes, “But wait! There’s more!!”

During the first impeachment investigation of President Trump, which Schiff led as chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Democrats tried, in vain, to find evidence that Patel had been a “back channel” for Russia to Trump. The impeachment report cited a phone call between then-Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Patel — which proved nothing but the fact that the committee had violated the president’s Sixth Amendment rights by spying on his legal counsel.

Sadly, Schiffhead won his election to be in the Senate. I think we can count him as a “NO!” vote on Kash Patel. Returning to the Fox News story:

The current FBI director, Christopher Wray, is currently serving a 10-year appointment which began in 2017. Wray will either need to be fired or resign in order for Patel to take the position.

I wonder if Wray has the guts to stick it out until January 20th, 2025 to a few minutes after 12PM? If he does, look for him to get a phone call from President Trump. That call will consist of two words.

It looks like that Mr. Patel, besides being qualified for the position, is also a big supporter of President Trump. He held several positions in the first Trump administration. He also is no friend of the Bureaucracy.

Patel has been a fierce critic of bureaucracy and corruption. In 2023, Patel published a book called “Government Gangsters: The Deep State, the Truth, and the Battle for Our Democracy,” which delved into “the major players and tactics within the permanent government bureaucracy,” according to the book’s description.

I think that we are now seeing blind panic arriving at the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington Headquarters. I’ve seen reports and rumors that hundreds of personnel are looking at resigning or retiring. The Democrat Propaganda Corps has come out against Mr. Patel’s nomination for the usual reasons.

Media outlets have labeled Patel an “extremely controversial pick,” with MSNBC’s Morning Joe calling him the “personification of MAGA rage about the Justice Department and the FBI.”

You don’t have to keep telling me this. I support Mr. Patel’s nomination. The icing on the cake?

“I would shut down the FBI Hoover Building on day one and reopen the next day as a museum of the Deep State,” Patel said in an interview with “The Shawn Ryan Show.”

That would take a bit more then ordering the building closed, but the sentiment is good. However, the FBI is supposed to be moving to a new building some time in the future. One reason is the Hoover building, much like the FBI, is decrepit and falling apart. The problem with that is the costs are, in the typical Government manner, exploding out of control. The most recent estimate is something like $5 billion dollars.

I suspect that may be something that DOGE needs to look into, especially with all empty and under utilized building in the Washington D.C. area. It might make more sense to just move the FBI into other spaces and break it up a bit. The Forensic’s people into one location, senior management into another and the general rank and file, (A greatly reduced rank and file), put into another building. Hopefully, DOGE will have a suggestion site.

The Democrats and the Deep State Uniparty may want to shoot down Mr. Patel’s confirmation, but the Republicans have a lock on the Senate. Once Mr. Patel is in office, with his support team, he can begin cleaning out the trash that has become the FBI. As for the likes of Adm Schiffhead? Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. If any of the Democrats in office have broken federal law, Patel and Bondi are going to come knocking.
