Good day all. Normally, I don’t do much regarding the Entertainment World unless I saw or read something I liked. This is a bit different. A few years ago, Disney announced that it was going to do a live action remake of Disney’s classic animated movie, Snow White. It has been a complete disaster for Disney.
Then the problems started. The woman portraying Snow White is Rachael Zegler. While Ms. Zegler is attractive, genetically she doesn’t meet the criteria of Snow White, who was a medieval Germanic princess. Rachael Zelger is part Hispanic, and slightly on the dark side in her skin tone. Still, this could have been pulled off, except things got a lot worse.
To begin with, it quickly came out that the whole movie was going the “Woke” route and not have much to do with the original content of the story. Then came out pictures showing not dwarves, but what came to be known as the “7 Dirty Hippies.” It went downhill from there.
The first test screenings apparently were a complete disaster and Disney basically reshot the entire movie. This caused a delay in it’s release. Then that test screening also failed miserably and they reshot it again, this time with a huge amount of CGI, including the 7 dwarves. Disney chose not to hire smaller people thanks to the big mouth of Peter Dinklage.
The next problem for Disney was Rachael Zegler and her big mouth. For the last year or so, she has been basically showing that she is a typical Hollywood Leftard and has actually been denigrating Walt Disney, the original Snow White and her own movie.
Disney has now scheduled the release for March 2025, several years behind schedule. To start their promotion of this soon to be Epic Failure, they released the trailer on YouTube. As of this post, it has been out for about a day and has received some 22,000 likes. Normally the dislikes are hidden by YouTube, however I was able to get an extension for the Chrome Browser that shows them. Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s not good. As of this posting, the Show White trailer has been disliked almost 500,000 times. Here is the trailer.
Disney is in real trouble although they’ve been able to hide it to some extent. Snow White is on target to cost $500 million+ dollars and will never make the investment back let alone turn a profit. Most of the movies released by Disney since 2020 have either not done very well or have failed outright. The Star Wars franchise is basically dead. They murdered Indiana Jones and Marvel is on life support.
Of late, the only real Marvel hit has been Deadpool and Wolverine, and the only reason for that was Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman managing to keep control of the direction of the film. The Disney parks are seeing major attendance dropoffs, and Disney World has been the primary money maker for Disney Corporation for decades.
The problem with Disney World, is that Disney has been destroying the park attractions that people want to see and replacing them with WOKE junk. What is worse. The junk doesn’t actually work. Next Disney has been jacking up prices for everything and this is one of the main reasons for the drop in attendance. People can’t afford to go to the parks any longer.
Since revenue is dropping, Disney’s answer is to jack up the prices even more and that is causing more people to forego visiting Disney World. Add to that all the WOKE and DEI trash visitors to the parks are seeing, such as a guy dressed up like Snow White, and you can see why parents are deciding they can’t trust Disney any longer.
They way things are going for Disney, unless there is a structural change in Management, I suspect that Disney will fail in the next 5 to 10 years. That structural change will require the wholesale replacement of the Management and Human Resources departments and putting a number of their IP’s into storage for a decade or two. Otherwise?
