Good day all. The inauguration of President Trump can’t come soon enough. With each day, more revelations of the utter and complete incompetence of the Biden/Harris maladministration comes out. Most of this was suspected, but was covered up by the Democrat Propaganda Corps and the Democrat party.

Now a news story has come out that should flat out terrify America. The Biden Maladministration is now admitting that the American power grid and our ports can be shut down by the People’s Republic of China. Here are the details from Newsmax:
The Biden White House made a stunning admission that Chinese hackers have the ability to cripple the American power grid and ports, and it is reportedly not just run-of-the-mill intrusions but increasingly sophisticated actors with unparalleled skills.
We’ve known about the Chinese hacking into the United States for years of course. What most people assumed, apparently erroneously, was that we were doing something about it. Apparently not.
Jake Sullivan, national security adviser, had known about the Chinese hackers’ ability to knock out critical infrastructure for more than a year, sources told The Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Journal story is paywalled, however I was able to review it. What it says is absolutely horrifying. The PRC is in everything. This includes the power grid, banking, telecommunications, pretty much everything connected to the internet. Many members of Congress have stopped using their cellphones for traditional calls and have switched over to services such as Signal and Threema. (We use both at Anger Central)
In the fall of 2023 he had warned telecommunications and technology executives in a secret White House meeting, seeking Big Tech’s help in protecting American lives and infrastructure from hacks.
One of the problems with this is that many in Big Tech are in bed with the PRC. They may say they will help, but they won’t do much if anything. Apple is probably the most notorious.
Since then there have been at least nine U.S. telecom companies hacked, according to deputy national security adviser for cybersecurity Anne Neuberger.
“We will never know regarding the scope and scale of this,” she told the Journal. “They were very careful about their techniques.”
One of the problems with corporate network security is management. To really lock down their networks requires spending money and they won’t do this unless a gun is held to their heads. It looks like it’s coming to that point now.
“They’re going to take down our grid,” far-east expert Gordon Chang told Newsmax’s “Sunday Report.” “They’re going to take down everything we have. We are going to be like an 1850s country without the things that we’ve been accustomed to, that operate our country.”
That is a very real possibility. Worse might be the potential damage of systems that rely on computer control to function being given commands that do actual physical harm. This was proven possible when Stuxnet was built and delivered to the Iranian nuclear program and hundreds of their centrifuges were instructed to basically self destruct.
“Cyberspace is a fiercely contested battlefield,” Jake Sullivan told the paper. “We have made considerable progress, but serious vulnerabilities remain in sectors where we don’t have mandatory cybersecurity requirements.”
One issue is the social media platform, TikTok. That is, for all intents and purposes, wholly owned by the Ministry of State Security. There is a court case in front of the Supreme Court to allow TikTok to be banned from the United States. I don’t know the details on the case, and, apparently, President Trump has requested that SCOTUS hold off ruling until his team is in office. As for me, I just assume that if TikTok is on a phone, every scrap of information you have connected to that phone is in the hands of the Red Chinese Ministry of State Security.
Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, said the U.S. vulnerability is “breathtaking.”
“It’s shocking how exposed we are, and still are,” he added.
As I mentioned before, the major issue is corporations refusing to spend the money to upgrade their networks. As much as I hate to say it, it might require legislation forcing companies to do the upgrades. Of course, the correct method would be major tax incentives, (Greed works after all), mixed with flat out threats to the C-level management, (CEO, CIO, CFO and the Boards of Directors), of major prison time.
Now if the worst case scenario were to happen and the PRC did take down our networks, black out the country, etc. it would be a flat out declaration of war. The military secure networks are pretty strong, at least I hope they are, and especially to communications for our nuclear triad. If the PRC took down our infrastructure, they would very quickly learn what so many of our past enemies have. Americans tend to massively overreact when attacked.

That could mean the President might decide, since wrecking our infrastructure would be a mass if lengthy mass casualty attack, that the only response would be to open up a few dozen cases of sunshine on China.
The paywalled Wall Street Journal article lists where the PRC hackers hit and how they got in. A lot of it was due to old, outdated hardware routers that were way behind on their firmware updates. A lot of these locations didn’t have any dedicated security people and in a few cases, one or two IT staffers and some of them part time only.
Another place the Chicom hackers have been targeting are home routers. There are literally millions of these, and one of the most popular brands is TP-Link. The problem here is that they are made in China and who knows what’s in the firmware. Other home and small routers from other companies have been set up with little to no actual security on them and few are up to date on their firmware.
The FBI, in one of their few competent moments of late, identified hundreds of these small office and home routers. They then went to a judge asking for a warrant to remotely access these routers and kill the Chinese malware that was on it. This permission was granted a year ago and the FBI proceeded to fix these routers. I would like to know if they reached out to the owners and informed them of the problems. I suspect many would be happy for the notice and move to fix things themselves or accept the technical help. However, this is today’s FBI and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they didn’t tell anyone.
This information should be taken at face value. Far to many people, especially in government and business, think that the Chinese Communist government has no interest in starting a war. They don’t in the sense that if they can get what they want in other ways, they will. Now we have President Trump coming in and he is not a friend of the Chinese communist government. In the mean time, we need to look into fixing our infrastructure as well as getting ready to do unto others what they want to do to us.
