Zuckerberg throws in the towel, Facebook ending fact checking

Good day all. If you have been using Facebook, then you may have been a victim of one of their notorious Fact Checks. The Progressive Liberal Democrats have been using these, and not just on Facebook, to censor content they don’t like.

People have been canceled from Socialist media due to these “Fact Checkers” or, at the very least, had their posts or images either removed or obfuscated. In many cases, the posting had no bearing on what the so called “Fact Checker” claimed was the reason for the removal. This has happened to me repeatedly with the last instance being an image I pulled off the Internet insulting liberals regarding Kwanzaa and the fact checkers blocked it saying it was the Huffington Post editorial staff and was wrong. There was nothing in the picture to indicate it had anything at all to do with the Huffington Post. It was just a bunch of white liberals that were picked at random.

Facebook and it’s founder, mark Zuckerberg have been hauled up before several congressional hearings regarding Meta’s, Facebook’s holding company, actions in censoring content with fake fact checks. The most notorious of these fact checks happened during the Panicdemic. People would post something that went against the Democrats narratives and would find the post removed and in many cases, the poster losing his or her account. Later on, it would come out that the poster was actually correct.

With the election of President Trump, Big Tech, in most cases, has started rethinking their censorship policies. Recently, Mark Zuckerberg visited President Trump at Mar-a-lago. Apparently, he had a “Come to Jesus” moment and announced that Facebook would no longer use fact checkers, but would go with something similar to TwitterX’s Community Notes system. Here are the details from Fox News:

Meta is ending its fact-checking program and lifting restrictions on speech to “restore free expression” across Facebook, Instagram and Meta platforms, admitting its current content moderation practices have “gone too far.”

“We’re going to get back to our roots and focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies and restoring free expression on our platforms,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a video posted Tuesday morning. “More specifically, we’re going to get rid of fact-checkers and replace them with Community Notes similar to X, starting in the U.S.”

The community notes system used by TwitterX was put in place after Elon Musk bought the company and fired all the fact checkers. Musk’s premise is that more information and a discussion of the post is far better then censoring content, one reason being that recent history has proven that the “Fact Checkers” and censors were almost always wrong.

Meta’s chief global affairs officer, Joel Kaplan, joined Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” Tuesday morning for an exclusive interview to discuss the changes.

“This is a great opportunity for us to reset the balance in favor of free expression. As Mark says in that video, what we’re doing is we’re getting back to our roots and free expression,” Kaplan told “Fox & Friends.”

Meta’s third-party fact-checking program was put in place after the 2016 election and had been used to “manage content” and misinformation on its platforms, largely due to “political pressure,” executives said, but admitted the system has “gone too far.”

“We went to independent, third-party fact-checkers,” Kaplan told Fox News Digital in an interview. “It has become clear there is too much political bias in what they choose to fact-check because, basically, they get to fact-check whatever they see on the platform.”

A number of these “Fake Checkers” aren’t even in the United States and yet they were censoring Americans such as myself. I even got hit with a ban on something by a fact checker that was writing in Spanish! Apparently, most of these so called “Fact Checkers” weren’t American and would use their own national biases to censor and ban content.

Kaplan also told Fox News Digital that Meta is changing some of its own content moderation rules, especially those that they feel are “too restrictive and not allowing enough discourse around sensitive topics like immigration, trans issues and gender.”

To restrictive is nice way of saying “We won’t allow you to post anything, no matter how innocuous or accurate if it goes against the Progressive Narratives or if George Soros doesn’t like it.”

But as for the timing of the changes, Kaplan told Fox News Digital the company has “a real opportunity now.”

“We have a new administration coming in that is far from pressuring companies to censor and [is more] a huge supporter of free expression,” Kaplan said, referring to the incoming Trump administration. “It gets us back to the values that Mark founded the company on.”

In other words, the Democrats lost and now our protections from them are gone. The new administration, which has been victimized by us in the past, along with their supporters, is back in office and they are not happy with us. Simply put, we’re screwed.

Kaplan also said Meta sees “opportunities for partnership” with the Trump administration, not only on issues of free expression but also in “promoting American business and America’s technological edge.”

“Those are issues of great importance to Meta and our sector,” Kaplan told Fox News Digital. “And we’re excited to work with the Trump administration to advance those goals.”

I have an image of the meeting between President Trump and Mark Zuckerberg.

We shall see if Zuckerberg actually follow through with his announcement. Personally, I’m not holding my breath.
