Good day all. We have a major divide in the United States regarding the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. More than half the states and a majority of the people believe that people have the right to own guns, carry them and if needed, use them to defend themselves against criminals and the government.
Then we have the Democrats. They despise the 2nd Amendment and have done everything they can to suppress people’s rights to keep and near arms. They will announce that “It’s for the children!” and “We need to make our neighborhoods safe!”
The reality is very different. The Progressives, Liberals and Democrats can’t tolerate an armed citizenry for one reason. People with guns are liable to use them on the Progressives Liberals and Democrats when they try to impose their totalitarian acts upon them. In other words, they can’t have their slaves being armed. Armed slaves are not slaves, they are free men and women. The Democrats have been working to get their slaves back since 1865.
One of the things that separates the “Blue (Slave)” States from the “Red” (Free) states is the ability to carry a gun. Currently, 29 States are now “Constitutional Carry” states. This means that you do not need a license or a permit to carry a gun, either openly or concealed. Other states are debating it, and then you have the “Blue” or Democrat controlled states. They make it almost impossible to carry a gun and require that you get state permission to do so.
This makes it a problem for people in CC states when they travel. For instance, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire are all Constitutional Carry. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York do not want people to have guns and make it very difficult to get a carry permit. (Supreme Court be damned)
The three CC states also issue concealed carry permits for people even though they aren’t required. The problem is that the permits aren’t accepted by states like Massachusetts or New York. You also have these states limiting things like ammunition capacity in firearms and even limiting the makes and models of firearms you can actually own.
There are any number of court challenges to these oppressive anti-constitutional state laws, but those take time to be reviewed and if you run into a judge or court that doesn’t believe that people should have guns, will rule against them, the Constitution be damned. Now a bill is being introduced into the United States Senate that will treat a states carry permit like a drivers license. Good in all 50 states. Here are the details from Newsmax:
A bill to create national reciprocity for the concealed carry of firearms was introduced in the Senate this week, one day after a similar measure was introduced in the House of Representatives.
The legislation, known as the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, would allow individuals with concealed carry privileges in their home state to carry guns in the same manner in any other state with concealed carry laws.
The measure would also treat state-issued concealed carry permits like drivers’ licenses, where individuals can use the license issued by their home state to drive in another state but must respect the other state’s speed limits or traffic laws.
A similar bill is being submitted in the House of Representatives. This one amends Title 18 and basically says “If you have a license or permit to carry in your home state, you can carry in any state in the Union.” It also blocks states that limit the ammunition capacity of a carry gun. It also acknowledges that private property owners can ask that people make easy targets of themselves not bring guns on to their property.
Additionally, if you are forced to use your firearm to defend yourself or others, and the state then tries to jail you, the State has to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the use of said means of self defense was not lawful. If the state does try, and fails, then the state is on the hook for all legal fees incurred by the defense. (It’s a lot more detailed of course)
It also goes into where people can carry with regards to Federal property. Basically you can carry on almost any federal property with some exceptions. (Like courts) This is, of course, a big deal and not just a slap in the face to people like Massachusetts Govno Maura Healy or New York Govno Kathy Hochul. It will mean that people with valid New Hampshire CCW permits can cross into Massachusetts and not worry about being arrested. Washington Gun Law has a more detailed legal review of this bill.
Add to this a bill has been put forward to abolish the BATF, and you can see that the gun controllers are being confronted. I also understand that a bill to repeal the National Firearms Act is also being discussed, but I don’t have a lot of information on this…yet. Without question, you are going to see Govnos like Maura Healy excreting rectangular ceramic building materials if this does pass the House and Senate.
There is little doubt that if this bill passes the House and Senate, President Trump will sign it into law. 90 days later it goes into effect and people can then travel with their personal defense weapon and not have to worry about being arrested simply for having it. What are the chances of this passing? In my opinion, I think fair to good. We shall see of course. It will help if you contact your (alleged) representatives and senators and tell them that you want this passed.
