Good day all. One of the things that Elon Musk and the weaponized Autistics of DOGE have found was that the now closed USAID was paying major news organizations.
The payments weren’t for something like a daily newspaper subscription. We are talking about tens of millions of dollars to organizations like the New York Times and Politico. Here are the details from Town Hall’s Sarah Arnold:
With Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficacy (DOGE) scrutinizing every aspect of wasteful spending within the U.S. government, it has come to light that left-leaning media outlets have received government funding.
According to federal records, the New York Times has increasingly become a government-funded outlet, raising serious concerns about the independence and integrity of its reporting. With millions in taxpayer dollars funneled into its operations, the once (forever ago) stalwart newspaper’s ability to cover stories without bias or influence is now under scrutiny. While we already knew the Times favored the left, the new revelation amplifies concerns over just how much the media shapes narratives.
Favored the left? The New York Slimes long ago became just a propaganda rag for the Democrat Party. They used to make enough money to push the Democrat narratives, but over the last few decades, their blatant biases finally pushed advertisers to leave them. Since they need money and the Democrats need a propaganda rag that has “Street Cred,” it makes sense that The Democrats would launder money through various federal agencies and send it to the Slimes.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services was reportedly the most significant contributor to the New York Times, providing $26.9 million to the outlet. At the same time, the National Science Foundation gave $19.15 million, while the U.S. government allocated $4.1 million to the Times in August 2024—alone.
Since 2021, the newspaper for the left has received $50 million from the government. NASA, the Pentagon, and the Department of Justice (DOJ) also appeared to give funds to the outlet.
Outside of subscriptions, and that is questionable, there is no reason to give the Slimes one single dollar. If we review all the pro-government, pro-democrat articles and editorials over the last few years, especially with regards to the Great Panicdemic of 2020 and the suppression of any dissenting opinions, we can understand why. The Biden maladministration and the Deep State bought and paid for everything.
The NYT was not the only outlet receiving handouts from the federal government.
DOGE found that Politico was given more than $9.5 million in federal funding over the last year and a half. The news outlet had already received $1.5 million in fiscal year 2025. In the fiscal year 2024, Politico was given $8.1 million to fuel its left-wing narrative, provided by the Departments of Health and Human Services, Interior, Energy, Agriculture, and Commerce, among others.
Those payments are now over. I would like to see clawbacks of the funds, but I suspect that may not be possible. Instead, the credibility of these organizations needs to be crushed. The New York Times, if they want any hope of restoring their credibility of being an independent news source, is going to need a complete change of owners and senior managers. The current owners and managers have have flushed what little credibility they had left straight down the toilet.
For years, I’ve referred to the Main Stream Media as the Democrat Propaganda Corps. Who knew that my comment was actually reality? It’s things like this that has caused President Trump and his White House Press office to basically throw the Slimes, Politico and all the other hard left propaganda sheets out. They are completely corrupt and have zero credibility left.
