Good day all. Once again, President Trump has started trolling certain people and once again, the insane leftards are going even more insane. How did President Trump do this? By joking that he wanted to be the next pope.

Now this all started shortly after Pope Francis died not long ago. (I won’t go into my opinion of Pope Francis. That’s a topic for another day) Someone asked who President Trump thought should be Pope and he made an off hand comment that he might make a good pope.
This set off the Leftist, most of whom are atheists and frankly, wouldn’t mind abolishing religion. (Except for Islam. They are ok with Islam since they don’t want to get killed by Muslims) President Trump, who never passes up a chance to troll the left, posted a meme on Truth Social. As expected, the “Usual Suspects” are going off the rails. Here are the details from Fox News:
President Donald Trump appears to have his eye on a new gig after being back in the Oval Office for just over 100 days.
On Friday, the president posted an AI-generated image of himself as the pope on Truth Social, and it has gone viral. Less than a week prior to the post, Trump was in Rome attending the funeral for the late Pope Francis. As the Vatican searches for a new pontiff, it seems Trump is jokingly throwing his hat in the ring.

When I first heard about this, President Trump saying he thought he might like the job, I knew he was joking. For starters, President Trump isn’t Catholic. That’s a rather important requirement for the job. Second, he’s rather busy Making American Great Again. Most people understood this was meant as a joke of course, but as usual, the Trump haters went right off the rails.
Townhall columnist Dustan Grage dismissed critics, saying that most of those he saw complaining about the post were atheists and that their opinions didn’t matter.
“Memes depicting Trump as Christ have been and always will be called out as blasphemy. The Pope picture is actually funny. Calm down, folks,” Grage wrote.
You will have the ultra conservative Catholics raging that this was blasphemous of course, but they’re few in number these days. Most Catholics will understand that this is meant as a joke and that there is no need to call out the Spanish Inquisition.

Meanwhile, Democratic activist and influencer Harry Sisson accused “MAGA” of electing a “man-child.”
Trump just posted an AI image of himself as the Pope. Instead of working to bring down costs, he’s doing this instead. Nice job, MAGA! You elected a man-child.
It probably took all of 2 minutes for President Trump to tell one of his staffers to come up with something. On the other hand, it could be one his staffers dreamed this up on his or her own and presented it to President Trump. Then there are those who basically said. “Hold my beer and watch this!”

Vatican Spokesman Matteo Bruni declined to comment, but the New York State Catholic Conference accused Trump of mockery.
“There is nothing clever or funny about this image, Mr. President,” they wrote. “We just buried our beloved Pope Francis and the cardinals are about to enter a solemn conclave to elect a new successor of St. Peter. Do not mock us.”
But you’re so mockable! The Conference should have followed this bit of sage advice.
“It’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool then to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.”
Earlier this week, when asked about who he would want to see take over the Vatican, Trump quipped that he wanted to be pope.
“I’d like to be pope. That’d be my number one choice,” Trump said, before clarifying that he was joking and naming a possible option — Archbishop of New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
As you can see, the “Usual suspects” completely skipped over that last bit. They all focused on President Trump saying he would like to be pope.
Now for the record, I am Catholic. I’m a pretty lousy one too. I haven’t been in a church in years and that was for a funeral. I consider the recently deceased pope to be a flat out disaster for the Church. He spent way to much time and resources on things that really aren’t things that the Church should be talking about. It doesn’t help that he was a liberation theologian too.
Frankly, I’m not to to sure I really care who the next pope is. There are a lot of internal issues that have been swept under the rug that need to be dealt with. Whether or not the Cardinals “Do the right thing” so to speak and elect someone who can start fixing the issues, or they decide to double down on stupid and put another Pope Francis on the Chair of Saint Peter. We’ll find out sometime in the next few weeks. In the meantime, enjoy the fun and games.
