Good day all. A story broke last week that really shouldn’t surprise anyone. A drug trafficker in Massachusetts was arrested. What makes this an interesting story is that this was one of Govno Maura Healey’s aids.
This arrest occurred in Springfield, Massachusetts. If that name sounds familiar, then you are a fan of the Simpsons. It’s also halfway across the state, about 90 minutes from Boston. The aid, Lamar Cook, is, or was the deputy director of the Healey’s western office. Now he is sitting in jail. Here are the details from Fox News:
An aide to Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey was arrested for cocaine trafficking after investigators intercepted packages with the drug slated to be delivered to a state office building where he worked, prosecutors said.
I can’t say I’m surprised at the level of stupidity of one of Healey’s DEI hires. He was having cocaine shipped to his office? That’s not just stupid, that is epic stupid. The Massachusetts State Police check packages coming in. Usually they’re looking for things like explosives or poisons, but the sensors will see Bolivian Marching Powder as easily as it does anthrax, probably easier.
LaMar Cook, 45, of Springfield, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Wednesday and was ordered held without bail pending a court hearing, Boston.com reported. In addition to the drug charge, Cook is also charged with illegally owning a firearm and ammunition.
Ok this one is probably a charge I consider unconstitutional. The only reason it wold be illegal is if this criminal mastermind was a convicted felon. I don’t see anything in the story to indicate he had been convicted previously of any felonies. I suspect he didn’t go through the Massachusetts process of begging for permission to exercise his 2nd Amendment rights. (Massachusetts is a Blue State and has banned the right to keep and bear arms)
Cook served as deputy director of Healey’s Western Massachusetts office, according to an archived staff directory. A spokesperson for the governor’s office said state officials fired Cook “effectively immediately” after learning of his arrest Tuesday, Boston.com reported.
“The conduct that occurred here is unacceptable and represents a major breach of the public trust,” the spokesperson said. “This criminal investigation is ongoing, and our administration will work with law enforcement to assist them in their work.”
This is all “Polispeak” for “Oh shit! Didn’t anyone do a check on this guy before he was hired?” I think the safe answer to this is of course they didn’t. The Fox News story has a picture of the now former deputy director and going by first impressions, he looks like someone I wouldn’t want to meet in a well lit hallway, never mind a dark alley. Granted, this is not the way to judge someone, however, I’ve seen people dressed like bums that I would trust more then this clown. (And skin tone doesn’t matter. I look at the face and eyes)
Authorities have seized 21 kilograms of cocaine, including eight intercepted Saturday during a delivery operation at the Springfield State Office Building, the DA’s office said.
21 kilograms? Yeah, if he’s convicted, he’s not getting out of jail any time soon. I guess he can count his blessing that he wasn’t in a boat in the Gulf of America with his drugs.
The investigation stemmed from two prior drug seizures. Authorities intercepted and searched two suspicious packages at Hotel UMass (University of Massachusetts Amherst) in Amherst on Oct. 10 and found about 13 kilograms of suspected cocaine.
That’s was probably for a party at Umass Animal Amherst. How did they tie this in to Cook?
Cook previously worked as the director of Hotel UMass, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“Evidence collected during that operation was consistent with the narcotics recovered during the most recent controlled delivery in Springfield,” the DA’s office said. “The investigation into the UMass seizure remains ongoing and may result in additional charges related to the prior shipments in Hampshire County.”
I would love to say this was an atypical incident, but we have been seeing increasing levels of documented criminality in the Democrat Party, both with their operatives and staffers and a number of their elected officials as well. Years ago there was a case of a member of the Kalifornistan legislature, a big gun grabber, who was convicted for, wait for it, gun running. Would you care to guess the party?
Now it’s in the hands of courts. I’m assuming that it will be the Massachusetts state courts and not the federal courts. Normally I would say the suspect would either walk or get a slap on the wrist, however 40+ pounds of cocaine is nothing the courts can sneeze at. Sneeze from? Probably. As for Govno Healey? I have little doubt they are trying to do their level best to make this whole thing go away. Therefore, it’s our duty to make sure everyone knows that Govno Maura Healey employs drug runners in high level positions in her administration.
