Good day all. Oregon, particularly Portland, has become a literal battleground between the Left and the rest of the country. They are actively interfering with ICE and relying on their pet COB judges, (Clinton, Obama and Biden) to slow President Trump down. Now one city has decided to go full on rebellion.
The city in question is Hillsboro, Oregon. They are now working to actively protect illegal aliens from ICE. Here are the details from the Post Millennial:
A city in Oregon has declared a state of emergency in response to increased immigration enforcement operations, which have resulted in hundreds of arrests within the past month in the Portland metro area. On Tuesday, the city of Hillsboro doubled down on its sanctuary status for illegal immigrants and enacted a resolution intended to prevent them from being apprehended by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
The city, located just outside of Portland, condemned immigration enforcement operations in its emergency declaration and called for an “immediate end to such actions.” ICE agents and federal law enforcement partners have been targeting the Portland area with enhanced operations since October, primarily apprehending the “worst of the worst” illegal migrant offenders. Hillsboro has a high population of non-US citizens, many of whom are unlawfully residing in the US, according to data.
“The unnecessary and likely unlawful tactics being used by many federal immigration enforcement authorities have generated widespread fear in the community, which cause our residents to be fearful of leaving their homes to go to work, school, access city services, take public transportation…” the City Council resolution declared. “No matter when someone has joined our community or where they have come from, every person deserves to be free of fear and intimidation and to be treated with dignity and respect.”
This sounds an awful lot like outright rebellion to me. Perhaps it’s time to make a city government an example. Now this is just these morons spouting off. To my knowledge, they haven’t actually done anything unlawful…yet. Perhaps the Administration should provide them the opportunity to do something really, really stupid.
Hillsboro City Council asked the public to report ICE activity and vowed to conduct more “Know Your Rights” trainings for illegal immigrants, which offer them guidance on how to evade ICE arrest.
Now that sounds like actively aiding and abetting to me. I’m not a lawyer, but it looks to my unschooled eye like these idiots are either about to violate the law or are already doing so.
Additionally, the city council called on the state of Oregon to impose a mask ban for federal agents and asked the Oregon congressional delegation to enact a bill next session that would prohibit the Trump administration’s deportation operations.
Yeah, good luck with that. First the so called “Mask bans” can and are being ignored by federal agents. I’ve already mentioned in other posts that the only reason agents choose to wear masks to hide their faces is due to the threats against them and their families by leftard idiots such as the Hillsboro city council. As to stopping deportations by act of congress?
I do applaud you for actually considering going the legislative route, although any such legislation has two chances of passage. Slim and none and Slim has left town. First, President Trump will veto any such legislation. Second, the overwhelming majority of Americans are all in on removing illegal aliens, starting with the ones who commit additional crimes besides being here in the first place. Congress passing bills to protect illegal aliens is tantamount to political suicide.
Anti-ICE agitators have been observed in widely circulated social media videos obstructing ICE activities in Hillsboro and nearby regions over the past month. The Department of Justice under President Trump has initiated legal actions against the state of Oregon and multiple jurisdictions that have designated themselves as sanctuary areas. Critics contend that sanctuary jurisdictions serve as safe havens for illegal immigrants involved in criminal activities.
Obstruction is a polite way of saying armed assault by these terrorists. It’s only a matter of time before a few of them are shot and killed by Federal Agents. That it hasn’t happened yet is nothing short of a miracle. As for these criminal havens known as Sanctuary jurisdictions, they are unlawful on their face. They have been tolerated for a long time, but that is coming to an end.
The state of emergency took immediate effect on Tuesday.
I wonder if DHS and ICE have gone into Hillsboro yet? Perhaps DHS Secretary Kristi “ICE Barbie” Noem and Tom Homan might want put something together with the DoJ and pay the city a little visit with a few dozen agents. I’m sure Border Czar might have a few things to say about the City Council’s demands.
