Well this is new. DoJ forming Pro-2A civil rights office

Good day all. As I was drinking my morning coffee and reading the news, I saw a story that caught me happily by surprise. The Department of Justice is creating a new section under the Civil Rights division meant to protect American’s constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Since Pam Bondi was sworn in as the Attorney General, a number of people have been concerned about her stance with regards to the Second Amendment. When she was AG of Florida, she didn’t seem to have a problem with the Red Flag law they were pushing through.

Since she became the Attorney General of the United States, we have seen the DoJ going pro-Second Amendment in one case and just the opposite in another. One of these cases revolves around the NFA and the tax stamps on suppressors, short barreled rifles and other items that Congress zeroed out in the Big Beautiful Bill.

Before President Trump’s signature on the bill was even dry, the first lawsuits to end all the registration requirements on these items were filed. Then there was a large segment of Congress who sent a signed letter to Bondi telling her that ending the registration was the intent of the law. Now the reason for all this was the Supreme Court decision back in the day upholding the NFA and all the registration requirements as a means to collect the $200 tax. No tax being collected means no reason for all the registration requirements.

The Bondi DoJ came down in favor of keeping the registration requirements and in such a way that, if upheld, would basically give Washington absolute control over far more then just NFA items. On the flip side, the DoJ just came down on the side of Plaintiffs trying to overturn Hawaii’s virtual ban on carrying firearms in the state. You can see the problem. Now the DoJ has announced it will form a section to protect the civil rights of firearm owners. Here are the details from Newsmax:

The Justice Department plans to expand gun-rights protections with a new office in its civil rights division dedicated to enforcing the U.S. constitutional right to bear arms, according to plans shared with Congress and reviewed by Reuters.

The office, called the Second Amendment Rights Section, expects to open on Dec. 4 and will be dedicated to investigating local laws or policies limiting gun rights.

Ok, how about investigating federal laws limiting the 2nd Amendment rights of American citizens?

The section intends to execute the broad policy directions from a February executive order issued by President Donald Trump directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to comb the entire U.S. government to “assess any ongoing infringements” of gun rights.

Currently, the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division is run by Harmeet Dhillon. She has proven to be Hell on Wheels when it comes to cleaning up the Woke Leftists that had been running riot in the Civil Rights division for decades. I suspect that if Bondi is replaced, it will be by Harmeet Dhillon.

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution enshrines the right to keep and bear arms, a deeply divisive issue in a nation where many conservatives avidly support gun rights while many liberals push for restrictions in the face of a high rate of gun-related deaths.

The Libtards have never met a constitutional right they didn’t want to take away from anyone they don’t like. Those bubbleheaded buffoons also won’t put the blame for crime where it belongs. On criminals. They would rather blame an inanimate object instead because it makes them feel better.

There have been 378 mass shootings this year as of Nov. 25, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a comprehensive database of gun-related incidents in the U.S., which defines mass shootings as events where four or more people are killed or wounded, excluding the shooter.

A number of those crimes were gang related, basically criminals going after each other and not caring who got in the way. In the few instances where you had a whackjob, they invariably went to places the knew they wouldn’t have to worry about someone shooting back. Why? No guns allowed.

Earlier this year, the agency launched a civil rights investigation into allegations that the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department was slow-walking approvals for concealed-carry permits after gun-rights groups launched a lawsuit over the department’s process, fees and wait times.

I think another target should be New Jersey. They have all but outlawed firearms and the ability to defend yourself, your family or your neighbors. They have outlawed hollow point ammunition and will only allow Full Metal Jacketed ammunition. Never mind that one of the reasons for the design of hollow points was to reduce the risk of a bullet going through the target and hitting an innocent bystander.

The agency has also withdrawn or seeks to withdraw at least a dozen consent decrees from cities and states around the country under investigation over their police practices.

A number of these consent decrees were designed to make it virtually impossible for police to do their jobs. While there are departments that, in my opinion, need to be totally disbanded and rebuilt from the ground up. What usually happens is a couple of bad apples cause issues or you have some a few cases where some race baiting moonbat whines for getting a traffic ticket and the local government gets the DoJ to shove something down the department’s throat.

I’ve already heard one report that a former, disgruntled DoJ Civil Rights Division lawyer is upset. The lawyer thinks that defending people’s constitutional rights to keep and bear arms under the 2nd Amendment is a bad idea and will detract from the mission of the CRD which is to punish anyone who is white. That was always the problem with the Civil Rights Division. They only believed in civil rights for some people, not everyone. They also believed that most of the constitution was advisory at best.

Now we have to wait and see how all this works. Will the DoJ finally start defending the constitutional rights of American gun owners? If so, then they will need to start coming down hard on Blue states who’s sole goal is reducing the citizens to unarmed, victimized chattel. They will also need to seriously review some of their current briefs with the court that go against the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. Honestly, I’m not holding my breath, but I am hoping to be happily surprised.
