Good day all. Once again, Communists are looking to shut down the government because they can’t get their way on taxes and spending. This time however, it’s not the Federal Government, it’s the city government of Chicago.

Chicago is currently suffering under it’s most incompetent mayor in history, and that’s saying something after the debacle that was Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

She was replaced by a complete idiot by the name of Butthead Brandon Johnson. Under his mismanagement, crime has skyrocketed and spending has all but bankrupted the city. Butthead Brandon is ignoring the crime problem and has resorted to the standard Democrat answer to impending bankruptcy. Massive tax increases. There is just one problem. The city council. Here are the details from Fox News:
A potential veto of Chicago’s 2026 budget by Mayor Brandon Johnson could trigger the Windy City’s first-ever municipal shutdown.

Johnson reportedly rebuked the budget passed by council over the weekend, which lacks the mayor’s favored per-employee “head tax” on corporations, as “morally bankrupt.”
The tax in question would put a monthly fee on employers, charging the $21 for each person employed by a company. According to Block Club Chicago:
The plan, called the Community Safety Surcharge, would require employers with 100 or more workers in Chicago to pay $21 per employee per month. It applies to any company operating in the city, regardless of where its headquarters are, so long as employees spend at least 50 percent of their time working in Chicago.
For some companies, especially those that have thousands of employees, this will be a major hit. It looks like it also would affect those who work at home and don’t go into the office much or at all if they live in Chicago. I don’t think Butthead Brandon understands that a lot of companies will simply move their offices out of Chicago. (A number have already bailed out of Illinois altogether) Returning to the Fox News story:
If Johnson were to veto the budget, it would place the onus back on city council to rehash a plan that could get signed before Dec. 30 – or plunge the city into shutdown.
I’m sure the Republican members of the Council will explain why adding taxes, either to individuals or businesses isn’t a good idea.
City Council lacks any Republican representation – with a Democratic majority of 48 plus two independents, so the situation represents a clash within factions of the left.
Well, there’s your problem! The idiots living in Chicago voted for this and chose people with the collective IQ of a tree stump to represent them.
One such Democratic critic was Alderman Gilbert Villegas of Belmont-Cragin on the city’s northwest side. Villegas, a noted ally of ex-Mayor Lori Lightfoot, tweeted that he will “work hard to see if we can get 38-40 votes to override the veto” – noting that it originally passed 30-18.
I wouldn’t announce that you were a fan of the failed mayor, Lori Lightfoot. She was bounced after one term because she was so incompetent and replaced by Butthead Johnson. No one thought he could be even worse. Instead, he announced “Hold my beer and watch this!” Johnson is also going to be a one term mayor.
Chicago faces a projected $1.2 billion shortfall for 2026. Johnson has argued that policies under the Trump administration favor corporations over working-class families and that businesses should “put more skin in the game.”
This has nothing to do with President Trump or the Federal Government. It has everything to do with those incompetent morons who can’t control themselves and have no run out of other people’s money.
But not all Democrats in Illinois agree. Gov. JB Pritzker has criticized the proposed $33-per-worker, per-month head tax, warning it would “penalize the very thing that we want, which is more employment.”
$33 dollar per person? Butthead Johnson must have raised it from what was listed in the story I quoted from above. As to Fatso Pritzker? I wonder how may people his family’s business have working in Chicago? I suspect he’s looking at the corporate bottom line. Still, like a broken clock, he can be right twice a day.
Johnson also rebuked the Washington Post for its scathing editorial entitled, “Chicago Has Lost Its Mind,” which argued the head tax and other pressures on businesses will stifle economic growth.
Johnson quipped that the paper “wouldn’t be the first time a publication got something I’ve done wrong.”
Oh I don’t think so. Up until recently, the Washington Compost would have been all in editorially speaking on the head tax. However, Bezos got tired of burning money and decided to rebalance the editorial pages towards things closer to reality rather then Progressive Libtard Demoroid socialist drivel.
The Fox News story includes quotes from the Communists and the Socialists arguing about the head tax. What none of these morons is considering is the possibility of employers basically saying “Fuck it! We’re leaving.” This is what’s happening in Kalifornistan, New York and to Illinois. If a company doesn’t want to leave the state, they can quite easily move a few miles and get out of Chicago’s Hell zone. Then they will get nothing at all.
Which is what the city of Chicago deserves.
Personally, I hope they do shut down. It can’t make things any worse then they already are in Chicago and who knows? Things might actually improve. Now that will get the Moron Mayor and the city council on the same page. They can’t have the Serfs realize that they really don’t need the city government for very much at all.

only four mayors in the history of Chicago have made it into double digits in office – one with two different times in office (7 years and 3 years) and two of them were named “Daley.”
Even Rahm the Ram only did 8 years, despite Chicago having no term limits.
the number of single term, even single year, mayors is, frankly, a fantastic index of the boiling pot of Chicago politics.
