Good day all. Unless you have been in a coma for the last 15 years, you are aware of the Democrats ruining, (Not a typo), various cities and states have been actively protecting criminal aliens. When one of these illegal aliens commits a crime, ICE wants to know so the can pick him, or her, up and boot them out of the country. They then issue a “Detainer” asking that local authorities let them know when they are to be released.
This can be as simple as making a phone call or sending an email, yet pretty much all Democrat controlled cities and states refuse to even consider doing this simple task. Instead these cities and states have declared themselves to be “Sanctuaries” and that they will not do anything to aid in the removal of illegal aliens.
The Democrat politicians who have been doing this have literally put American citizens as well as legal resident aliens at risk. A number of citizens have been murdered, while others have been killed or injured in traffic accidents caused by illegal aliens. They have protected rapists and child molesters from deportation as well. Now Senator Lindsey Graham has put forward a bill to punish these politicians criminally. U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today introduced legislation to end the practice of sanctuary cities once and for all.
Graham plans to seek a vote on this legislation when the Senate considers the fiscal year (FY) 2026 appropriations measure for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Well, I think we may have another reason that the Democrats are shutting down the government. It’s not just the fact that ICE is doing it’s job, it’s this bill that would put more Democrats where far to many of them belong. In prison.
Graham has maintained that the root cause of the chaos surrounding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids stems from the fact that twelve states, including Minnesota, as well as dozens of local jurisdictions across the country have enacted sanctuary city policies. These practices include the obstruction of federal immigration enforcement efforts that, in turn, create a safe haven for illegal aliens.
The legislation seeks to end sanctuary city policies forever by imposing criminal penalties on state and local officials who willfully interfere with the enforcement of federal immigration laws. If passed, this provision will restore order to areas experiencing disruptions, eliminate obstacles that hinder law enforcement operations, and reassert the federal government’s constitutional authority over immigration policy.
Graham has come up with some pretty solid measure to criminally charge these sanctuary supporting office holders. For instance:

- Makes it illegal for state and local officials to impede or obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration laws
- Prevents state and local officials from safe harboring or shielding illegal immigrants from federal apprehension or withholding immigration records
- Restricts state and local officials from prohibiting the cooperation among agencies with federal authorities on matters related to immigration enforcement
- Requires state and local officials to inform federal authorities of the release of illegal immigrants from their custody
- Imposes criminal penalties on state and local officials who release illegal immigrants from custody if the emancipated immigrant goes on to kill or seriously injury someone

I first heard about this bill on Sunday, February 15th, from William Kirk of the Washington Gun Law YouTube channel. He is an attorney, generally specializing in 2nd Amendment law, but he also speaks about other legal issues on occasion. Here is what Mr. Kirk has to say:
Now, does this bill have a hope in hell of becoming the law of the land? Sadly, not a chance. While it is technically nonpartisan, it reality it’s aimed right at the Democrats. There is absolutely no way in Hell that they would allow this to pass. Even if it did, I’m not sure it would pass constitutional muster since it’s long been established that the Federal Government can not force state governments to enforce federal laws.
On the other hand, these Communist thugs are getting American citizens killed with their policies and they need to be held accountable. I would much rather that they face the American justice system then having to go with the alternatives. Those alternatives generally require tar, feathers and rope and aren’t considered to be a means to lawfully deal with certain office holders who have forgotten what their job actually is.
If such a bill were to pass and be upheld by the Supreme Court, it would shut down the Democrats plans to use illegal aliens as a means to secure absolute power and create a single party state. Currently though, about the only way to get this passed would be to end the Filibuster as it currently exists. (More and that idea later) I will say that once in a great while, Graham actually does come up with something that is a good idea. Still, I think he should retire and start a new job as the manager of a fabric store.
