Good day all. I haven’t written anything about Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick because so much else was happening. She is a Democrat representing Florida’s 20th district. She is also under indictment for fraud and if convicted is looking at 50 years in prison.

Recently McCormick was investigated by the House Ethics committee and they found sufficient evidence to recommend her expulsion from the House of Representatives. Soon after, at least one representative started working on a bill to expel McCormick. Most people would have taken the hint and resigned.
Eric Scumwell and Tony Gonzales, two dirtbags from each of the parties were both looking at expulsion and decided that resignation was a better idea than being booted out. Both had vested in that gold plated retirement system Congress has cooked up for itself. I don’t know, but being expelled may have cost them their pensions. For McCormick, that wouldn’t have been an issue. She is only in her second term.
When all this broke, including her indictment, people assumed she would resign. Not only did she refuse, she doubled down on everything. Well, it looks like someone managed to change her mind. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has pulled the pin. Here are the details from Fox News:
Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, D-Fla., said Tuesday she plans to resign from the House of Representatives after Republicans vowed to force a vote to expel her from the chamber.
“Rather than play these political games, I choose to step away so I can devote my time to fighting for my neighbors in Florida’s 20th District,” she wrote on social media Tuesday afternoon. “I hereby resign from the 119th Congress, effective immediately.”
“This fight is far from over,” Cherfilus-McCormick, who was indicted by a grand jury last year for allegedly stealing COVID-19 emergency funds, added in her statement.
Oh, I think it’s over. What isn’t over is your criminal trial and probable conviction. I wonder is McCormick will try and get some sort of a sweetheart plea deal, not unlike the one Hunter “Hovernose” Biden managed to get before an honest judge put the kibosh on the whole thing.
The announcement came after Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., pledged to file a motion to expel Cherfilus-McCormick, teeing up a vote later this week. It takes two-thirds of the House to remove a lawmaker, but a growing number of Democrats have voiced support for the expulsion effort.
The levels of corruption of members of Congress, both House and Senate, are getting the attention of the voters and they are beginning to show their unhappiness. Now with the GOP, they are generally quick to deal with the crooks in their ranks.

This is why Brandon Herrera is going to be the next representative for the Texas 23rd district. The last time, he came within 400 votes if defeating him and this time he beat him big time. Gonzales was expected to lose the runoff, and when the confirmation of his sexual harassment of female staffers, one of whom killed herself, he was done.
Now the Democrats have a long history of protecting their own unless they no longer serve a purpose, which is increasing the power of the Democrat party. This appears to be what happened with Scumwell. It was known what a pig he was, not to mention a security risk, but he served his purpose which was going after President Trump. That blew up when one of his victims came forward. Since the Party knew what a scumbag he is, they knew he had to go. He went from being the Democrat front runner for governor in Kalifornistan to probable prison time in less than a week.

Cherfilus-McCormick’s abrupt announcement came minutes prior to a House Ethics Committee hearing that was slated to recommended sanctions against her for committing a bevy of ethics violations involving financial misconduct.
I can’t be certain, but I think there are two and possibly three Democrats currently under indictment. This greedy cow, and the fat slob who assaulted federal agents at an ICE facility. (Why she hasn’t been expelled yet is beyond me)
House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest, R-Miss., announced the committee lost jurisdiction over the matter with Cherfilus-Mccormick’s decision to quit Congress.
That isn’t a surprise. The committee only has jurisdiction over serving members of Congress. Since this crook is resigning, she is no longer their problem.
The House ethics panel found “clear and convincing evidence” in March that the Florida Democrat misused federal disaster relief money that was improperly paid to her family’s healthcare company, among other misconduct.
Apparently, McCormick stole, allegedly, some $5 million dollars. (I think the term is embezzled, but I may be wrong) I don’t know how the Ethics committee generates evidence, but they nay have gone to the Department of Justice and asked to see what they had. Since this would have been handed to the Defense team, and wouldn’t affect the criminal case, I’m guessing they saw everything. From what I’ve heard, even the Democrat members of the committee knew that McCormick was cooked.
Cherfilus-McCormick has denied any wrongdoing and repeatedly shot down speculation that she would resign if confronted with an expulsion vote.
Ahh yes, the old “I’m innocent and I’m going down fighting and taking as many of you with me as possible!” plan. How did that work out for your McCormick?
Cherfilus-McCormick has filed to run for re-election, despite raising just $11,000 in the year’s first fundraising quarter, according to recent Federal Election Commission filings. It is unclear whether she plans to suspend her campaign.
Oh I think that’s a foregone conclusion. She probably hasn’t had time to make the formal announcement, what with her resignation, clearing out her office, researching non-extradition countries, etc. She is slated to go on trial sometime next year and is facing a 15-count indictment.
Now the question is, can the Republicans flip that seat? It was originally held by the utterly corrupt Alcee Hastings. He was a crooked judge who managed to avoid criminal charges, but stank so much that he was impeached in the House and actually convicted in the Senate. However, his district appears to be made up of morons who elected and reelected his corrupt ass many times. I suspect that the Democrats will win the seat again. I wonder how long before that person is arrested?
