Good day all. It’s been a week or so since the news came out that the Southern Poverty Law Center or SPLC was being indicted for fraud and money laundering. To say that this caused an earthquake on the left would be a bit of an understatement.
The SPLC has long been the darling of the Progressive Liberal Democrats. They would shower millions of dollars on the organization to show how they were “Fighting White Supremacy and racism.” What was actually happening was the SPLC was accusing people and groups that tended to be conservative or not fans of the government of being haters, racists and white supremacists. In almost all these cases, it was a blatant lie.
These accusations seriously damaged the reputations of many people and groups and in several cases, led to violent attacks. The FBI used to work with the SPLC and under the Biden/Garland DoJ, would go after all the political enemies of the Democrat party, being cheered on and assisted by the Legacy Media. With the indictment, the denials are starting to be made by the usual suspects. Here are the details from Blaze Media:
The Justice Department announced on Tuesday, April 21st, that a grand jury in Alabama returned an indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center with 11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering.
Democrats are by now no doubt accustomed to hearing that many of the activists driving their agenda on the left are crooked; however, the SPLC is not merely accused of corruption.
Rather, it has been credibly accused of bankrolling leaders and organizers in the very extremist groups it claimed to be fighting — including the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nation, the American Front, United Klans of America, the National Socialist Party of America, and the National Alliance — as well as having a hand in the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence,” stated acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.
The Unite the Right rally was intended as bringing all the various conservative groups together to show support for President Trump. However, assorted white supremacist groups came in to cause trouble and to make it appear that everyone there was associated with them. There were also left wing Antifa types there as well and bad things happened. Now it looks like all those white supremacist groups were paid to be there by the SPLC.
However, those in Congress who have both relied on and supported the SPLC are in deep denial. One such loser us Senator Charles UpChuck Schumer.
Despite this alleged betrayal of donors and fellow travelers alike, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Democrat operatives have rallied to the hate racket’s defense.
Schumer said Wednesday on the floor of the U.S. Senate that the “deeply disturbing charges” brought against the SPLC “should send a chill down the spine of every American who cares about free expression and the rule of law in the Justice Department. It should send a chill down the spine of every American who cares about civil liberties and the fight against violent extremism.”
I think Schumer is running scared. This isn’t the Garland DoJ which conducted Lawfare against the political opponents of the Democrat Party and the Biden Administration. The acting AG knows that this is going to be looked at under a microscope. The Trump DoJ is going to have every I dotted and every T crossed. I also expect many more shoes to plummet to earth over this, including more indictments and a few arrests. That is what has UpChuck worried. He might have his own hands in the SPLC cookie jar.
Contrary to Schumer’s suggestion, Americans keen on fighting violent extremism might be delighted to learn that the Justice Department has targeted an alleged financial crutch holding up violent bigots across the country.
The indictment against the SPLC alleges that between 2014 and 2023, the organization — which raked in over $106.47 million in contributions in fiscal year 2024 alone — “secretly funneled more than $3 million in SPLC funds to [field sources] who were associated with various violent extremist groups.”
Basically the SPLC, a known hate organization, was funding hate groups and lying about it. The people donating to that corrupt criminal organization didn’t know that the millions they were donating was going to the very groups they were trying to destroy, Nazi’s and the KKK. Then we have UpChuck Schumer.
“Let’s be clear what this case is … really about,” said Schumer. “It has nothing to do with alleged wire fraud or with the Southern Poverty Law Center somehow working in coordination with the KKK. That’s ridiculous on its face. It doesn’t pass the laugh test.”
Of course it doesn’t pass the laugh test you moron, it’s not funny. Criminal activities are never funny. Of course, you are part of the largest criminal organization in America, the Democrat Party, so I can see how you might be upset that one of your donors got busted.
Schumer was hardly the only Democrat associate to dismiss the possibility that the SPLC was keeping the illusion of formidable hatred alive in order to continue bilking deep-pocketed donors.
Norman Eisen, a Democrat operative who served as special counsel to former President Barack Obama, suggested in a joint statement with Richard Painter — former associate counsel to former President George W. Bush — and Virginia Canter — former associate counsel to former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama — that the SPLC wasn’t bankrolling its purported foes but rather “paying informants to expose and prevent violence by the KKK, neo-Nazis, and other hate groups.”
“This is core to counter-extremism work, and it’s exactly what the DOJ and FBI should be doing — not attacking legendary civil rights organizations,” wrote the trio.
“SPLC is ideologically opposed to hate groups and hate crimes. We stand with SPLC and will support them in every way.”
It just goes on and on and on. The Racist Left is foaming at the mouth that their primary tool of attacking anyone who doesn’t bow to the Progressive Mantra, has been caught playing games with contributor’s money. They are in lockstep that this is all a plot by President Trump and those evil racist Republicans to destroy a fine institution that was doing good work.
What these idiots haven’t considered, or are flat out refusing to consider, is that the DoJ has actual evidence. From what I’ve been reading, the investigation into the SPLC didn’t start with Trump 47. It started either under the Biden maladministration or late in the Trump 45 administration. I know the investigation was shut down by Merrick Garland and the SPLC was brought in to “Consult.”
Then the worst case scenario happened. President Trump won reelection. This was never supposed to happen. For the Democrats, the plan was to either break President Trump and his supporters or jail President Trump on bogus charges. However, every attempt by Merrick Garland to “Get Trump” failed for one simple reason. President Trump, unlike Joe Biden and the Democrats, didn’t commit any crimes.
I’m assuming that once President Trump’s team was in place, they discovered the investigation, or knew about it, and reviewed everything that Garland and Wray probably tried to bury. The FBI, once the initial house cleaning was done, reopened the investigation and started following the money.
We know what they found since it was announced in the indictment. The Leftards, being in a complete state of both denial and panic, are assuming that this is just the Trump version of lawfare. They are failing to understand that the new DoJ knows how this is all going to look and they are ready for it. Basically, they are bringing receipts.
Now the next question is, what else is going to be discovered? The initial charges were just that, basic, easy to prove crimes. Now that they have an indictment, the nest step will be search warrants on everything in the SPLC and everyone in a decision making capacity. I think we will see arrests in the next month or so and potentially RICO charges. If UpChuck Schumer and the Libtards are going nuts over the money laundering charges, hitting the SPLC with a RICO charge is going to cause their heads to explode.
