Good day all. Of late, I haven’t had much use for Kentucky senator Rand Paul. He has started showing himself to be almost as nutty as his father, Ron Paul. However, like his father, every once in a while he comes up with an actual good idea.
Currently, the Supreme Court is considering arguments to end Birthright Citizenship for illegal aliens. The case revolves around a section of the 14th Amendment regarding people being under the jurisdiction of the United States. Most people, myself include, think that SCOTUS is going to drop the ball again and rule against the Administration.
I don’t think anyone would be surprised about this. It is a very tough case. We can count on the three idiots, Kagen, Sotomayor and the DEI hire Brown Jackson to vote in favor of destroying the country. As for the rest? Who knows? I have said that I think we will need a constitutional amendment to correct this issue and now Rand Paul is proposing one. Here are the detail from Just The News:
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Thursday introduced a constitutional amendment to end birthright citizenship, ahead of an expected Supreme Court ruling on President Donald Trump’s executive order to that effect.
“I am introducing a Constitutional Amendment to end Birthright Citizenship. Under current interpretations of American law, anyone born on American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of whether the parent was here legally or not,” he posted on X. “This is wrong and not at all the intent of those who wrote the 14th Amendment. We are a country filled with immigrants, and legal immigration is valuable and should be protected.”
I don’t have any argument with that. I’m married to a legal immigrant. We worked hard for her to come to the United States and followed all the immigration laws. I don’t have a problem with those who come here lawfully and work to assimilate as best as they can. Illegal Aliens have no intention of assimilating otherwise, they would have applied to come her lawfully.
“But we are also a country whose borders have been too open and our generosity exploited too often. President Trump has moved to seal our border from illegal immigrants more than any other president,” he added. “But we will have more to do. We need to make sure that only children born to legal residents of the U.S. are automatically citizens.”
“I have supported protecting birthright citizenship from abuse since the beginning of my tenure in the Senate, when I cosponsored the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011, and now I am proposing an amendment to protect United States citizenship in case the Supreme Court fails to address this issue correctly,” he added.
I wasn’t aware that he had been pushing this for a while. As I mentioned in the opening, I consider Paul to be rather untrustworthy and not capable of comprehending actual threats to the United States. I also won’t shed any tears if he loses his next primary. However, in this matter, I am fully on board.
The amendment is unlikely to clear the chamber or be ratified.
And that is the problem. The Democrats will do everything they can to throw open the borders to everyone that can get here. If the Democrat Party were actually a loyal to the Constitution and the United States, they would be fully on board with this. Instead, they will block it no matter how many of their slaves serfs constituents want it. This may be yet another reason for an article 5 convention of the states.
