Good day all. I’ve written about that pack of corrupt clowns known as the International Criminal Court, (ICC). They have long thought that they were in charge of the world, and that national sovereignty and national courts of justice were subordinate to them.
Initially, Bill “Bubba Horndog” Clinton signed the Rome Statute, but it was never submitted to Congress for ratification. (Probably due to not having a chance in Hell of being ratified) In 2002, President Bush withdrew the signature and told the ICC to pound sand. However, the ICC has not been able to take the hints we have provided.
The first such hint was the American Servicemembers’ Protection Act, also known as the “Invade the Hague Act.” This was passed and signed into law by President Bush in response to the ICC’s attempting to put American soldiers on trial. That act basically gave the president authority to use whatever means were needed to secure the immediate release of any American put on trial at the ICC.
The ICC has continued their attempts to impose their “authority” on the United States. This has led Secretary of State to “Remind” them that we are not a part of the Rome Statute and that we do not recognize the ICC. Here are the details from Newsmax:
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is calling for a global campaign to dismantle the International Criminal Court, arguing the tribunal has become a threat to U.S. sovereignty by claiming authority to prosecute American troops, law enforcement officers, and elected officials.
In a Wall Street Journal opinion column published Monday, Rubio said the Trump administration is launching a diplomatic effort to persuade allies to reject the ICC’s authority, warning that the court has evolved far beyond its original purpose.
Unfortunately, the WSJ piece is paywalled. However, Newmax and other sources have provided the details.
“The ICC and its allies seek a standing world tribunal with near-unlimited reach,” Rubio wrote, arguing the court is trying to override the U.S. Constitution and American courts by asserting jurisdiction over U.S. citizens despite America never ratifying the Rome Statute establishing the tribunal.
Secretary of State Rubio then noted that both parties have been opposed to letting the ICC prosecute Americans. (That may be changing these days) He also noted that President Clinton did NOT submit the Rome Statute to the Senate for ratification. I don’t recall that, but I’ll assume Bubba Horndog didn’t submit it to the Senate was simple. It had no chance of passing. Secretary Rubio then mentioned the “Bomb the Hague Act.”
Rubio pointed to the ICC’s 2020 investigation into alleged war crimes by U.S. troops in Afghanistan as evidence the court has targeted Americans despite America maintaining its own military justice system.
There were some incidents that were brought to a military court or at least had a JAG investigation. I know of one where some soldiers did some really stupid things, but while it was a violation of the UCMJ, it didn’t rise to the level of war crimes.
Rubio also accused the ICC of being driven by “a powerful network of leftist nongovernment organizations, smug globalists, and hostile Third World governments united by their enmity toward the U.S.”
According to CNN, the State Department is leading what officials described as a “whole-of-government campaign” to diplomatically isolate the ICC.
Well, of course. The President decides on the policy and the government carries it out. President Trump has decided that the ICC is a direct threat to American sovereignty and American citizens, so he intends to put them in their place. (Preferably on the ash heap of history)
Senior administration officials are urging countries to withdraw from the court, end financial support, and publicly reject its jurisdiction over American officials and service members.
I would recommend that they also be asked to formally withdraw from the Rome Statute and also announce that they will not tolerate their citizens being dragged in front of the International Criminal Kangaroo Court.
CNN also reported the administration is considering additional sanctions, visa revocations, and travel restrictions against ICC personnel while warning that countries benefiting from U.S. security assistance could face increased scrutiny if they continue supporting the court.
“Using all the tools at our government’s disposal, working beside every ally with whom we can make common cause, we will dismantle the ICC — brick by brick, if necessary,” Rubio wrote.
One of the things the ICC is trying to do is bring Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, the former Minister of Defense of Israel. The crime? Daring to defend Israel and destroy the terrorist organizations who have been murdering Israeli men, women and children. Israel is also another country that does not recognize the ICC and for good reason.
The second Trump administration has already imposed sanctions on ICC officials over investigations involving the U.S. and Israel.
This has set off the usual suspect on the Left. Two communist front organizations Human Right groups are suing the Trump Administration over the sanctions being brought against the ICC and the people working there. Here are those details from Newsmax:
Two human rights groups say Trump administration sanctions imposed on the International Criminal Court over its investigations of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza have illegally impeded their ability to advocate for Palestinians.
The organizations say in a lawsuit filed Wednesday that they have been forced to censor their own advocacy work to avoid scrutiny from the White House, which in an executive order last year not only targeted the Hague-based criminal court but prohibited providing or receiving services to or from entities that have been sanctioned.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news for these commies, (Actually I don’t), but they don’t have standing and neither does the court. This is a clear case of foreign policy and is in regard to an organization that is trying to assert power over the United States. Any judge would normally toss this, but I have no doubt these bozos are going for a COB judge.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Manhattan against top administration officials by DAWN and Taxpayer Alliance Against Genocide, seeks a court order that would strike down the restrictions on their advocacy and their ability to interact with Palestinian human rights groups and other sanctioned parties.
“The Trump administration is using the blunt instrument of economic sanctions not only to punish human rights defenders but to police the political expressions of millions of Americans,” said Omar Shakir, the executive director of DAWN, a U.S.-based group advocating for democracy and human rights in the Arab world that was founded by Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed in 2018.
“The government is violating the constitutional rights of American citizens in order to shield officials of a foreign government who have committed a genocide,” he said in a statement.
I wonder if these morons know that providing aid to terrorist organizations is against the law? I don’t think these communists care, or don’t think there will be any blowback. They may want to rethink their life choices. They won’t, of course. Returning to the original Newsmax story:
Rubio argued letting the ICC prosecute American military personnel, Border Patrol agents, or federal officials would undermine U.S. independence and national sovereignty.
“This is America,” Rubio wrote. “Our forefathers fought a revolution against a foreign power ‘transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses.’ Independence is our birthright.”
Not for the Leftards or the Eurotrash. They have never given up their imperial dreams of ruling the world. I think that working with other countries to negate the Globalists World Court and ICC are a good start. However, I think something more direct needs to be done. These nitwits should be told, privately, that if they ever grab and try an American, they will be killed, then remind them who invented the “Flying Ginzu.”
Sadly, I think the worst case is coming and an example will need to be made. That or the Marines go in and do what they do so well. Break everything and leave nothing behind but a pile of burning rubble.
