Good day all. This is a breaking story and is subject to change. Saturday, August 1st, there was a shooting in Idaho. Some whackjob started firing at people with what appears to be an AR-15 rifle. Sadly, two innocent people were killed by this POS. The good news is that a citizen pulled his own weapon and fired on the criminal.
The whole thing was caught on cell and dash cams. They show the whackjob firing and then a man in in a hat coming out of his car with what I’ve been told is a suppressed 5.7mm pistol. How opened fire on the criminal, distracting him and allowing people to get away. The whackjob took off and was later found safely dead. As of this post, it isn’t known if the GGWAG, (Wood Guy With A Gun), hit him of if the criminal ate his own gun. That will be determined. Here are some of the details from MSN.com:
A man armed with a handgun exchanged gunfire with the suspect during Saturday’s deadly shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, forcing the gunman to take cover, according to an eyewitness cited in multiple reports.
Lane Koehn told The Associated Press he saw a man carrying an AR-style rifle emerge near the drive-thru on Saturday afternoon before another man pulled a pistol and fired at the gunman. Koehn said the man with the pistol then stayed to help an injured In-N-Out employee until paramedics arrived.
As of this posting, the GGWAG has not been formally identified. Without question, the police know who he is. I did see a video, and I have not been able to relocate it, of the hero engaging the criminal. The criminal appears to have fired back and the hero evaded. However, he managed to drive off the criminal and may have hit him. That has yet to be determined. Witnesses also indicated that the criminal appeared to be unskilled with the rifle.
“I think it was random, the way the kid was firing. You can tell he was panicking.” Koehn said. “He was not very calm and collected, running and slinging his rifle around firing.”
Koehn stated that he also saw “an older gentleman” draw a handgun and exchange gunfire with the suspect, appearing to force the younger shooter to seek cover.
There are images of the hero that have been “Cleaned up” using AI tools. This may have reduced the actual accuracy of the man. He was using a suppressed pistol, so that instead of the usual bang, you heard a pop of the round being fired from his pistol. The pistol, if it was a 5.7mm, fires a high velocity round, but it’s not one I would choose for a defensive cartridge. If he was using subsonic rounds, that would have reduced the “Stopping power” of the round.
As of yet, we haven’t heard from the usual suspects on the left on this incident. This is probably due to the hero stopping even more carnage at the risk of his own life. Add to this that he was using a suppressor, (Also known as a silencer for those who watch to many movies), and reportedly, this may be the first time one was used in a self defense action. These are things that the Leftards hate. Someone has, once again, proven their narratives to be so much horseshit.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the gun banners react to this. I’ve seen a couple of idiots making idiotic comments in some of the news sites. However, the people who were there cheered on the Good Guy with a gun, and the fact that he knew how to use it and was willing to put himself in harms way.
I’m sure that YouTuber Colion Noir is already working on a video. Mr. Noir is also a lawyer. When we have these sorts of incidents, he will comment on what may happen to the person who stopped the attack through the legal system. You will also probably see something from the Washington Gun law channel as well. I don’t see this taking all that long to clear the Good Guy. It was all caught on video and there are plenty of witnesses. It’s quite clear that he may have saved a number of lives.
Over the next few days, we will learn more about the criminal, who I probably won’t name, and from the hero, who I will happily name. I think we’re also going to see the left try to sweep this under a rug since, once again. Their narrative that only police should have guns. As this situation proved. When seconds count. Police are, minutes away at bet.
***UPDATE***
Since I finished most of this post, more information has come out. There were two people returning fire on the criminal. One was an off duty police office in the restaurant. The criminal has also been identified, and apparently ate the barrel of his rifle.
The man with the suppressed pistol was identified in the Idaho Statesman as Jordan Salinas. His pistol appears to have been an FN Five-seveN fitted with a suppressor. The off duty officer has not yet been identified. What is annoying is that none of the legacy media have identified Mr. Salinas as one of the two heros who engaged and drove off the criminal and may have saved dozens of lives.
