Good day all. You may have or may be seeing 503 site busy error messages today. It seems that our tiny little blog is once again being visited after Sarah Hoyt linked to one of the Angry Idiot’s posts last night.
The post in question is one regarding the ending of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians, Salvadorians and others and how the Govno of New York, Katy Hochul, was extremely unhappy with this. It appears that Ms. Hoyt linked to the post around 1:30am today, (September 8th).
I saw the initial increase in traffic early this morning and reached out to our hosting service, asking them to temporarily increase resources. I did this after checking the usage and saw that the CPU was hitting and staying at 100%. We’ve had this happen several times in the past. When this happens, the traffic spike usually lasts about 12-24 hours and then returns to it’s normal, minuscule levels.
I know that the Megalomaniac In Charge, the Angry Webmaster, revels in this sort of attention, but I’m the one who needs to clean up the mess. Hopefully our Hosting service will see the issue and set up the temporary increase. Ms. Hoyt, I really hate to bother you, but wold it be possible to let us know when you are going to link to us? I can reach out to our hosting service and arrange a temporary scale out ahead of time.
