Good day all. Recently, the Trump Administration terminated Temporary Protected Status for Haitian and Salvadoran “Refugees.” Many of these people have been in the United States for decades, and never bothered to try and legalize their status. With this status ended, all of the people who were covered now have to leave.
There was the usual court cases with the usual COB judges blocking President Trump. That was resolved and now the TPS has been revoked. With their status revoked, they also lose their work status. This has set up Govno Hochul. It turns out, the state of New York has a lot of these people on the payroll and now they have to fire them. Here are the details from the Post Millennial:
New York Governor Kathy Hochul demanded that the Department of Homeland Security not terminate the Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and El Salvadorans who are currently working for the state government. She shared the letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, saying “terminating Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of immigrants is reckless and inhumane.”
Hochul posted her letter on the official governor’s web site. She went into full Karen mode, demanding that DHS secretary Mullin reverse this decision immediately. Here is some of what this incompetent moron wrote.
The callousness of abruptly ending TPS for legally-present individuals including the recent termination for Haitians and the forthcoming termination for Salvadorians will force New York State and local governments to sever the employment of hundreds of essential employees as soon as next week, putting their livelihoods – and potentially their safety – at risk.
She then admits that these people are needed for their virtual slave labor for the private sector as well as the government sector.
This impact is not limited to government workers and will be felt by private sector industries across our state. The sudden removal of these members of our workforce and our communities will impact critical services that New Yorkers rely on – with a particularly heavy impact on the healthcare industry, putting our seniors and other vulnerable New Yorkers at risk.
I don’t think Govno Hochul actually realizes what she has just said. The private sector needs these low paid serfs. If they are forced out, they will need to actually pay people what the jobs are worth. She then goes on to try and guilt the administration to restore the temporary status. It isn’t going to work of course.
I eagerly await your response to this urgent matter. We, as leaders and as Americans, have a responsibility to protect and preserve the dignity, security and basic livelihood for all.
And you can keep waiting. The first word in TPS is “TEMPORARY.” For years, in many cases, decades, it was renewed with absolutely no verification that it was actually still needed. It’s also been heavily abused.
There are more than 170,000 El Salvadorans in the United States who have benefited from Temporary Protected Status, which began in 2002 after earthquakes in that nation. It has been repeatedly extended for 18-month terms and is now set to expire Sept. 9. The Temporary Protection Status designation for Haitians began after a 2010 earthquake and expired July 27. There were more than 330,000 Haitians in the US under this designation at the time of its expiry.
The TPS status was for a natural disaster? I was under the impression it was a political violence issue. I know that El Salvador has pretty much stabilized under their current president, (He has been throwing the criminals and terrorists into jail where they belong) The natural disasters that triggered TPS for these two groups? Those were 20+ years ago. The effects have long since been resolved.
What this shows is that Govno Kathy Hochul doesn’t care about the unemployed American citizens in New York. She is only interested, as most Democrats are, in using illegals and others as pawns for their personal political power and also, for cheap, almost virtual slave labor.
Now what was the response to this letter by Secretary Mullin and the Department of Homeland Security? Did he read through it carefully, speak with his advisors, confer with President Trump about Govno Hochul’s gubernatorial whine? No. I suspect that they took the letter and filed it in the appropriate filing system.
Personally, I think it’s time to start looking into the possibility of going after all of these mayors, governors, attorneys general and legislators who have been actively aiding and abetting illegal immigration. I think indicting some of these idiots and getting convictions will put the rest on notice that they are expected to obey the laws and the Constitution of the United States. Sadly, I don’t think this will happen.
