It looks like the bell may be tolling for Larry Krasner

Good day all. I’ve been writing about the Soros DA in Philadelphia, PA, Larry Krasner for a couple of years. Krasner is notorious for his soft on criminals policies and his threats toward Federal Agents when they go after illegal aliens. His actions have been so bad that that the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court has forced Krasner to notify the State Attorney General regarding some of his cases.

Now it looks like Krasner may have finally crossed the line. A Federal judge has notified the Department of Justice that he believes that Krasner and one other has committed some actual felonies that, since they appear to have happened in Federal Court, are under Federal Jurisdiction. Here are the details from Newsmax:

A federal judge on Tuesday referred Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner and one of his top prosecutors to the Department of Justice for investigation, saying evidence uncovered in a murder case may constitute perjury, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy.

If this is correct, Krasner is in major trouble. It also wouldn’t surprise me, considering how arrogant Krasner has been since he became the District Attorney for Philidelphia.

U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond, a George W. Bush appointee, said the evidence was “tantamount to a prima facie showing of conduct that may constitute false statements, false declarations made under oath, perjury, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy.”

“I have thus reluctantly concluded that Philadelphia’s highest law enforcement official and one of his top assistants may have violated the law,” Diamond wrote in a 40-page memorandum.

“In these circumstances, with the issuance of this Memorandum, I refer the DAO, Mr. Krasner, and Stiegler to this District’s United States Attorney’s Office for investigation and other appropriate action.”

There have been calls to arrest Krasner after his threats to arrest ICE agents for carrying out their duties, however, Krasner has always pulled back when his mouth started working overtime. Now it looks like the DoJ may have their opening to formally investigate and potentially indict Krasner on federal charges.

Diamond also disqualified Krasner and Matthew Stiegler, chief of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office’s Conviction Integrity Unit, from participating in the case of Dennis Johnson, who is seeking to overturn his 2009 second-degree murder conviction. Diamond declined to disqualify the entire district attorney’s office.

I don’t know much about the Dennis Johnson case. I have no information on why he thinks his case should be overturned. Usually, this happens when new evidence is found showing that the convict didn’t actually do the crime, or that the case was badly mangled by the State when he was tried and hes showing that his rights were violated. However, since this is Krasner? He was probably doing his “Free the guilty and punish the Republicans” bit again.

Krasner, a liberal prosecutor whose campaigns have received backing from billionaire George Soros, said Tuesday he “respectfully and vigorously disagree[s]” with Diamond’s findings and plans to appeal “as soon as the law allows,” according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. Stiegler did not respond to the newspaper’s request for comment.

I believe that appeal happens after Krasner has been convicted, but I may be mistaken. Now, as to how all this came about? Newsmax provides some details.

The controversy stems from a 2022 filing in which Krasner’s office conceded Johnson was entitled to federal habeas relief because his trial attorney had been ineffective. A magistrate judge subsequently recommended granting relief.

But four district attorney’s office supervisors reviewed the case this year and concluded the concession contained “material misstatements,” prompting the office to move in June to withdraw it.

Material misstatements is another way of saying flat out lies.

Diamond held three evidentiary hearings into the office’s handling of the case and said he credited five prosecutors whose testimony was corroborated by contemporaneous documents.

He said he “largely discredit[ed]” Stiegler, whose testimony he found “often contradictory, evasive, or outright dishonest.”

Now that is very interesting. Five members of Krasner’s office testified against their boss? That tells me a few things. First, that they aren’t on board with his soft on crime policies. Second, I think it shows that there are a few ethical individuals remaining in the D.A.’s office. Third, it looks like this Stiegler character was going to not just throwing one of the staff under the buss, but was going to literally manufacture evidence to get that staffer and get the criminal out of prison.

According to Diamond’s findings, Stiegler proposed searching former Assistant District Attorney Jaclyn Mason’s other cases for mistakes so she could be portrayed as a “rogue” prosecutor responsible for errors in the concession filing.

First, honest prosecutors, (And yes, there are some out there), are human and they do make mistakes. The honest and ethical ones will acknowledge the error and move to correct it once they become aware of it. If they aren’t aware of the mistake, and you try to use that to call that prosecutor a “Rogue” prosecutor? Yeah that’s not going to work the way you think it will.

Krasner later called that a “really good idea” and urged four supervisors to pursue it, Diamond wrote. The supervisors rejected the proposal.

This is what caused Judge Diamond to lower the boom on Krasner and his minion Stiegler.

Diamond concluded Stiegler was urging the office to give the court “a false account to shield himself” and said material omissions and falsehoods in Stiegler’s testimony “may well amount to perjury.”

It probably is, but that will be for the Department of Justice to determine.

The judge said Krasner’s conduct was “more troubling,” finding that he urged supervisors to present what Diamond called a “false narrative to the Court” and repeatedly insisted someone remain involved in the case to “protect the office.”

Diamond also cited testimony that Krasner warned there would be “consequences” if prosecutors alerted the court to the conflict, which two supervisors understood as a threat to their jobs.

That tells me that Krasner knew that what he was doing was “problematical” at best. At worst?

Diamond said the alleged threat “could amount to obstruction of justice,” while Krasner and Stiegler’s alleged effort to persuade prosecutors to present a false account “might amount to criminal conspiracy.”

Now a referral to the DoJ is not n actual criminal charge. Judges are limited in actually ordering someone arrested. We have a number of criminal referrals from Congress to the DoJ that have yet to be acted on. However, this is from a sitting judge and it looks like there is witness testimony and hard evidence to back up his referral. This is all on top of other issues that Krasner is facing.

The case comes amid broader scrutiny of Krasner’s handling of post-conviction cases. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled in May that the state attorney general must be notified when Krasner’s office seeks to overturn certain convictions, citing what the court described as repeated failures of candor by the office.

I mentioned that at the beginning of this post. Krasner is a corrupt and evil individual who puts criminals and illegal aliens ahead of low abiding citizens and legal resident aliens. Frankly, the state of Pennsylvania should have removed Krasner from office some time ago. Apparently, this was tried before against Krasner and he was protected by the Commonwealth Court claiming that you can’t impeach and removes a sitting DA over “Policy differences.”

Somehow, I think a criminal referral to the United States Department of Justice by a federal judge might carry a bit more weight this time. Krasner could also “Do the right thing,” and resign.

One good thing for the people of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia is that the Blonde Blunder, Pam Bondi, is no longer the Attorney General, and I don’t think that the current AG, Todd Blanche, will have any problems putting Krasner on trial if the evidence warrants.
