Good day all. This is a breaking story as I write this. Federal Agents from Homeland Security Investigations, (HSI), have raided Ilhan Omar’s home.

Obviously, not a lot is known about why the house was raided and what they are looking for. There appears to be a lot for the investigators looking into her, starting with her immigration paperwork which led to her citizenship, and the “Marriage” to her brother to get him into the United States. On the financial side, Omar’s finances have been going up and down like a yoyo. First she’s worth $30 million, then she’s almost broke. Here are the details so far from Fox News:
The home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, was raided early Monday morning by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital. Multiple federal agents with HSI jackets were seen outside Omar’s Washington, D.C. home in the early hours of Monday.
Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.
I don’t know that she could be held liable for any issues with that paperwork since she was not of legal age at the time. Of course, all the other issues that may have occurred after she reached the age of majority are another matter.
The raid of the Somali-born congresswoman’s home started around 6 a.m. with HSI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) leading the operation. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is also involved in the investigation.
“Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,” a DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Sadly, no arrests of a certain member of the House of representatives has occurred. Still, it’s early and a raid is a good sign that they might have information that will lead to the arrest and conviction, with the eventual deportation, of Ilhan Omar.

Omar has been under fire for months and faced a myriad of controversies during her time in Congress. Most recently, her financial disclosures have come into focus. In 2024, the congresswoman reported that her husband possessed between $6 million and $30 million in assets.
And this was after her initial report when she took office that indicated she was pretty much broke. Now it is very common for members of congress to get rich, usually using insider trading, but Omar’s rate of increase in her wealth appeared to blow past even that San Fran Nan Pelosi.
A more recent 2025 financial disclosure report shows Omar’s revised value of shared assets between her and husband to sit at a maximum of $125,000 — a multimillion-dollar drop from the year prior, a difference of about 29.9 million. The lower estimate of their assets, $20,000, compared to the low and high debt estimates, $30,000 and $100,000, would imply the Minnesota Democrat could have a negative net worth.
Ilhan Omar finally commented on the event and she said pretty much what you would expect a Democrat with his/her/whatever hand in the cookie jar. In a follow up story from Fox News, Omar had this to say:
“I’m ok,” Omar wrote on X hours after the search commenced. “Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.”
“For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns,” she continued. “This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.”

During her tenure in Congress, she has been plagued by allegations that she married her brother in 2009 in an alleged immigration fraud scheme.
Those allegations are looking more and more less alleged every day. However, there might be a problem with charging her for that one.
A federal prosecutor recently told Fox News Digital that the statute of limitations could hinder an investigation into that matter.

I suspect that this is going to be more towards the financial crimes side rather than the immigration fraud side of the fence. One will get her booted from Congress and jailed for a while, the other will get her booted from congress, jailed, stripped of her citizenship and deported to Somalia. At this point, I’ll take either one. I also suspect that if there is an indictment, it will be next year, just from the way things work. Stay tuned!
