Good day all, This is the Angry Systems Administrator. As you may recall, we started playing with a bitcoin generator a couple of months ago.
We wanted to see how well it worked and what kind of revenues might be generated. Well the answer is in. Virtually none. After almost 2 months of crunching away with the web based generator as well as ones we had going internally, we have generated a grand total of TWO (2) Bitcoins.
The web version hasn’t even reached one bitcoin and my best guess is, it will be sometime in 2049 before it does. I’ve shut down the internal generators and have pulled the WordPress plugin offline. I’ll be taking the ones off the main site by the next update.
The two bitcoins we did generate are sitting on Mt. Gox. It looks like we might get a grand total of $10 for them. That won’t even pay for the electricity we used to create them.
Oh well, yet another noble experiment meets reality.

Oh we won’t begrudge you your experiment. That graph doesn’t look very promising. A climb up and now it’s trending down. Of course more data is needed to get a good idea of the future. 🙂
