As Obama’s Immigration policy roles along! What the heck am I raving about now you ask? Why it’s the latest stupid, asinine and moronic plan from the boneheads in Washington regarding securing our southern border.
Or should I say NOT securing our southern border.
Here’s the story from Fox News:
U.S. Proposes Unmanned Border Entry With Mexico
This hardly seems a time the U.S. would be willing to allow people to cross the border legally from Mexico without a customs officer in sight. But in this rugged, remote West Texas terrain where wading across the shallow Rio Grande undetected is all too easy, federal authorities are touting a proposal to open an unmanned port of entry as a security upgrade.
By the spring, kiosks could open up in Big Bend National Park allowing people from the tiny Mexican town of Boquillas del Carmen to scan their identity documents and talk to a customs officer in another location, at least 100 miles away.
*BOGGLE*
How stupid do these idiots in Washington think we are? This isn’t a way to secure the border, this is an open invitation to drug runners, human traffickers and Al Qeda terrorists to just waltz a nuke across the border. Now, where do this super geniuses plan on putting this thing?
The proposed crossing from Boquillas del Carmen leads to a vast expanse of rolling scrub, cut by sandy-floored canyons and violent volcanic rock outcroppings. The Chihuahuan desert wilderness is home to mountain lions, black bears and roadrunners, sparsely populated by an occasional camper and others visiting the 800,000-acre national park.
They also forgot to included the aforementioned drug smugglers, human traffickers border jumpers and other assorted criminals. I wonder why they want to do this?
Customs and Border Protection, which would run the port of entry, says the proposal is a safe way to allow access to the town’s residents, who currently must travel 240 road miles to the nearest legal entry point. It also would allow park visitors to visit the town.
Ok, I can see why they wouldn’t want to send Border Agents there. It’s the middle of nowhere, it’s tough to get a pizza delivered and they might run into criminals armed with all those guns Eric Holder and the nitwits at the BATFE allowed to go into Mexico. There must be someone who thinks this is a dumb idea.
But U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican member of the House Homeland Security committee, questioned the wisdom of using resources to make it easier to cross the border.
“We need to use our resources to secure the border rather than making it easier to enter in locations where we already have problems with illegal crossings,” McCaul said in an email. “There is more to the oversight of legal entry than checking documents. (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) needs to be physically present at every point of entry in order to inspect for contraband, detect suspicious behavior and, if necessary, act on what they encounter.
What does the federal park superintendent think?
“We think we can do this without doing any damage to national security and possibly enhance security along the border by having better intelligence, better communication with people in Mexico,” William Wellman, Big Bend National Park’s superintendent said.
I do believe the operative phrase is BOVINE DROPPINGS! According to the story, tourists used to cross informally into Mexico to visit that town and Mexicans used to cross in to buy supplies. That was stopped after 9/11 and with good reason. To begin with it is ILLEGEL in both Mexico and the United States to cross into each others countries without permission and it invites the criminal element to cross and head north.
Now it may be a good idea to let locals cross back and forth. However, putting a remote kiosk there is NOT the way to do it. Why not simply deputize a few people on both sides to handle the crossings? They will know who the locals are coming in from Mexico and can make sure they go home, and they can handle crossing into Mexico by tourists. If someone they don’t recognize tries to cross, they can call in the Federals on our side and the Federales on the Mexican side.
In other words, do SOMETHING THAT DOESN’T INVITE ILLEGALS TO CROSS THE BORDER!!
No, it’s going to take a city being destroyed and tens of thousand dead before those morons in Washington get the message.
A public comment period runs through Dec. 27 on the estimated $2.3 million project, which has support at the highest levels of government from both countries.
How much support does it have at the lowest levels? You know, the TAXPAYERS???
And people wonder why most Americans would like terrorists to use a neutron bomb on DC?
That’s all folks
