Good day all, Angry Webmaster here, angrier than usual. I’ve just paid my quarterly health insurance bill, so as expected, I’m steaming mad.
Although I am able to get health insurance through the company I work for, when I lost my job back in 2006, and ended up doing contracting to pay the bills, I bought a private plan for myself and Mrs. Webmaster, At the time, it came to about $800 a quarter for the 2 of us. (It’s a high deductible plan with a Health Savings Account attached) The last bill was about $1200. I’ve used the insurance only a couple of times, and generally Mrs. Webmaster and I are pretty healthy people.
However, since that unconstitutional travesty rammed down our throats by the Tyrant Obama and his minions, Pelosi and Reid, my rates have been going up like a rocket. Now, the genius who came up with Obamacare and its predecessor in Massachusetts, Romneycare is now saying that rates will be going up 31%!
If you recall the lies told first by Mitt Romney, (AKA Mittens Obomney), and then Obama, health insurance rates were going to go down. HAH! Everyone knew this wasn’t going to happen and that’s one of the major reasons that the majority of people were and are opposed to this travesty.
Originally I spotted a story about this on the American Thinker, however they were re-posting segments from the Daily Caller with some commentary. I’m going to use the original source material from the Daily Caller.
Medical insurance premiums in the United States are on the rise, the chief architect of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul has told The Daily Caller.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist Jonathan Gruber, who also devised former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s statewide health care reforms, is backtracking on an analysis he provided the White House in support of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, informing officials in three states that the price of insurance premiums will dramatically increase under the reforms.
Gee whiz Batman, how surprising that rates will go up and coverage will go down. So who is this guy Jonathon Gruber anyway? Well he is an economist from MIT ((Massachusetts Institute of Technology)) and is a co-editor of the Journal of Public Economics, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Health Economics. You can read his biography on the MIT site.
Apparently, there were complaints about Mr. Gruber concerning a conflict of interest. What conflict of interest? How about this?
Gruber, whom the Obama administration hired to provide an independent analysis of reforms, was widely criticized for failing to disclose the conflict of interest created by $392,600 in no-bid contracts the Department of Health and Human Services awarded him while he was advising the president’s policy advisers. Gruber also received $566,310 during 2008 and 2009 from the National Institutes of Health to conduct a study on the Medicare Part D plan.
In other words, standard operating procedure with the Obama Administration. It looks like Gruber may have been just another crony who was paid off by the taxpayers and generated a bogus report. Nice work if you can get it. So what happened to have him change his position so drastically?
In 2011, officials in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado ordered reports from Gruber which offer a drastically different portrait in 2012 from the one Obama painted just 17 months ago.
“As a consequence of the Affordable Care Act,” the president said in September 2010,”premiums are going to be lower than they would be otherwise; health care costs overall are going to be lower than they would be otherwise.”
Gruber’s new reports are in direct contrast Obama’s words — and with claims Gruber himself made in 2009. Then, the economics professor said that based on figures provided by the independent Congressional Budget Office, “[health care] reform will significantly reduce, not increase, non-group premiums.”
Of course. He was handed a pig in a poke by the CBO. The CBO has come under scrutiny for it’s numbers of the last few years. All their estimates have been absolutely dead wrong, costing the taxpayers hundreds of billions, if not trillions of dollars. ((Google Search: CBO Incompetence)) Thanks to people like Mr. Gruber who, to put it frankly, didn’t do their jobs, Americans are stuck with a disaster in the making. If allowed to go forward, Obamacare will destroy the healthcare system in the United States and kill millions of people.
“What a shock,” Gowdy said, feigning surprise. “Obamacare doesn’t lower costs, doesn’t increase coverage, and has turned into a wildly unpopular, labyrinthine government overreach.”
“’If you like your health insurance, you can keep it’ has morphed into ‘I, President Barack Obama, will decide what you need and make others pay for it.’”
This isn’t a surprise. Obama is a tyrant. He has no intention of listening to anyone who doesn’t agree with him and will usurp more and more powers unto himself in complete violation of the United States Constitution. Congress should have reigned him in years ago and now should begin the impeachment process.
They won’t of course. The Republican leadership is made up of spineless cowards and the Democrats are as corrupt and power mad as Obama. I’m really worried now that we may not make it to the election in November. If Obama looks like he is going to be crushed at the polls, he might try something along the lines of canceling the elections. If he should somehow scam his way into a second term, nothing is going to stop him in his goal of turning the United States into a communist totalitarian state.
Our one hope is the Elections in November. Obama my want to cancel them, but that is the one thing that would trigger the Military to remove him from office by force, and then only if Congress doesn’t act to remove Obama via impeachment. Obama is a delusional megalomaniac, but he isn’t stupid. I doubt even he would try cancel the 2012 election. He will try to rig it in his favor, but then that is the “Chicago Way.”
That is all..For now.

Don’t be to hard on the CBO, they are required to accept as true, and use in their analyses, the random numbers the morons in Congress pull out of their ass.
