Good day all. Unless you have been living in a cave, you have heard about Rush Limbaugh going after a “Law Student” at Georgetown University over taxpayer funded birth control.
The student in question, one Sandra Fluke, age 30, stated in testimony that she can’t afford to pay $3000 a year for birth control. This number was the cause of many discussions regarding just what Ms. Fluke, a feminist activist was doing with her personal life. Essentially she was demanding that the taxpayers fund her “activities,” or in this case, force the Catholic Church to pay for them. Here is the testimony in question:

From the discussions I’ve seen, the various types of oral contraceptives available to women are as low as $10/mo without insurance. The only other possible costs that might reach this level are condoms. I don’t have firsthand knowledge of these costs, but one of the commentators on The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler ran the numbers with regards to condoms.
LC Gladiator posted the following information:
Well SLUT SANDRA, lets just see. Discount Condom King sells 100 Condoms for $22.95. (We assume you know that the pill WONT prevent STDs, and the number of times you are boinking thats a BIG concern.) Taking your $3000 over three years divided by $22.95 equals 130 100 count orders, or 13,000 condoms . Divide that by three years is 4,333 men per year or 11.87 MEN PER DAY.
YOU ARE A SLUT!
So now you can see where Rush and many others are coming from. Ms. Fluke basically lied and did so intentionally. She is attending one of the pricier law schools in the nation. I understand it runs around $40K/year. She can’t afford her own birth control? Might I suggest she transfer to a less expensive school?
So who is Sandra Fluke? From that font of politically correct information, Wikipedia ((When it comes to politically sensitive entries, Wikipedia can NOT be trusted)):
Sandra Kay Fluke (born April 17, 1981) is an American feminist and activist enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center.
And there is the one phrase that completely discredits her. She is a feminist activist who enrolled at Georgetown, KNOWING their policies for the sole purpose of attacking the schools policy, and that of the Catholic Church which is opposed to the use of artificial birth control. She is yet another Obama Stalking horse whose purpose is to force the Church to go against its tenets. In other words, she is a hard left anti-religion bigot.
The Daily Caller has more on Ms. Fluke’s background.
Now this weekend, Rush apologized for his poor choice of words. However, the left wing smear machine went into full roar and as of this posting, Rush has lost 7 advertisers for his show. However, not all is as it appears. Jeffrey Lord has written an extensive article in the American Spectator on what is happening and came up with some rather interesting items.
It seems that the people running these companies are big Obama supporters and in some cases, have donated to MoveOn.org. MoveOn is a group that wants to suppress the rights of anyone who disagrees with liberal ideology. In this case I am speaking of one David Friend, CEO of Carbonite.
Jeffrey Lord really digs into the background of Mr. Friend. Here’s some of the things he has to say about him:
Take a look here at this link to Bloomberg/Business Week which profiles Mr. Friend and affirms him as “General Partner” of an investment group called “Orchid Partners” in Boston, Massachusetts. And Orchid Partners? Yes indeed, they are the venture capital firm behind… Carbonite.
Where Mr. Friend is listed as “Co-Founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President.”
So?
So when you cross check Mr. David Friend of Orchid Partners in Boston with the Federal Election Commission, one finds — ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh shocker!……… that a Mr. David Friend of Orchid Partners in Boston has been a contributor to… ready? Here’s the list of just where David Friend spends his political money:
MoveOn.org, America Coming Together and Democracy for America, all three listed here as George Soros funded groups, the latter set up by Howard Dean. Texans for Truth also drew Mr. Friend’s support. This group, according to Wikipedia, was set up by MoveOn.org spin-off Drive Democracy.org in 2004. Why? To… wait for it… challenge then-President Bush’s service in the Texas National Guard. The precise same stunt for which CBS fired Dan Rather after documents were discovered to have been forged. The Bush-Cheney campaign said of Texans for Truth that it was “a smear group launching baseless attacks on behalf of John Kerry’s campaign that will be rejected by the American people.” They were. But that didn’t quench Mr. Friend’s affection for either the smear campaign or supporting leftist candidates such as Howard Dean, and John Kerry.
It gets better. You would think that as a corporation, Mr. Friend would want to be as politically neutral as he could be. Rush Limbaugh’s recommendations of Carbonite no doubt drive a large amount of business into Mr. Friends hands. If he is going to pull his ads from Rush Limbaugh, then he will no doubt be even handed and pull them from other shows that use similar language.
Umm, no. More from Mr. Lord:
And get a load of this. Take a look right here at Ed “Laura Ingraham is a slut” Schultz’s site for his radio show. Who is listed as a Schultz sponsor? That’s right: Carbonite. Like Rush Limbaugh, Ed Schultz apologized. The difference? If Rush uses the word “slut” to illustrate the absurdity of the left-wing Sandra Fluke’s views — David Friend is outraged. But when Ed Schultz refers in hostile fashion out of the blue to conservative and Catholic Laura Ingraham as a “slut” — hey, no big deal for Carbonite.
Now, for some due diligence. I am a subscriber to Carbonite and have been for a little over a year. I have had to do restores from their service and have had no complaints about it. I did NOT subscribe to it on Rush Limbaugh’s recommendation. I did so on Leo LaPorte’s recommendation on This Week in Tech, part of his Twit.tv empire.
However, I was not aware of the CEO’s predilection for suppression of differing opinions. I am rethinking my continued patronage and recommendations of Carbonite. Of course, I still need something for an off site backup, so before calling for a boycott of Carbonite, I went looking for an alternative. I’ve found one that I’m testing right now. The costs appear to be similar, and they both appear to do the same job in the same manner.
The company is called Back Blaze and I have the Angry Systems Administrator evaluating it on one of our test systems. If it works as advertized, then we will probably ditch Carbonite for them. If you haven’t signed up with Carbonite and need a backup solution, give the people over at Back Blaze a look and see if they will do the job for you. If you do use Carbonite, think about canceling and moving to either Back Blaze or one of the other online backup services.
For those who would like the information, here is the list of companies that have canceled their advertising contracts with Rush Limbaugh:
- Sleep Train
- Sleep Number
- Legal Zoom
- Citrix
- Quicken Loans
- Carbonite
One thing all these companies have in common, the people running them are big supporters of the Democrats and Obama. They are your typical left wing, progressive elitist big government statists. They have theirs and will do whatever it takes to make sure you remain subservient to the ruling Liberal class. If you want to hurt them? Hit them in the wallets.

Is Ms Fluk, fluking too much?
Rush should not have apologized. The woman is either a fucking liar or a fucking slut, or both. She claims that it would cost her $3000 for contraception in the 6 years of he college carreer. Besides the fact that every University I know of provides condoms for free through the student health center, every county health department also gives away condoms. Thus the cost to the lying slut for contraception for the duration of time she is in school: ZERO! Now, assume the stupid lying slut decides to purchase her own condoms. Buying them in the 36 pack at walmart costs as little as 38.8 cents each. So, $3000 would purchase 7732 condoms. Assuming 6 years of school, that is 1289 condoms per year, or 3.5 condoms per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. The girl is a lying fucking slut. But, then, what can you expect from a lib?
If the lying slut is claiming $3000/year, then at 38.8 cents a go, she is doing just over 21 men per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
Now, if Georgetown University is a Catholic institution, then they probably do not dispensed condoms to the students, but that still leaves the city/county health department for free condoms, or she can purchase them from any supermarket, and drug store, any walmart store, or order them in bulk online.
In any case, $3000/year or $3000 over 6 years, this example of progressive femininity is a lying slut and Rush should not have apologized.
