So much for Dennis “The Menace” Kucinich

Good day all. I was way to busy yesterday and didn’t get to post anything. It looks like the delay was a good thing. Yesterday was “Super Tuesday” for the Republican Primaries. I’ll talk about that later on. This post is about the imminent retirement of the senior Nut Case in the House of Representatives, Dennis the Menace Kucinich.

It seems that the voters have sent him into retirement due to ill health, They were sick of him. Kucinich did have a tough reelection bid since his district was redrawn after the last census and since the Republicans won control of the state legislature, they decided to put two of the more annoying democrats into one district.

Here are the details from the Washington Post:

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio), the two-time presidential candidate and icon of the antiwar left, suffered a bruising primary defeat Tuesday as a new Republican-drawn congressional map threatened to end the career of one of the most colorful figures in Congress.

No threat, it did end the career of one of the most incompetent, insane idiots ever elected to any office. That’s one lunatic in office down and about 30 more to go ((Can we please send Maxine Waters to prison? Please?)). Back to the Washington Post story by Paul Kane, which reads more like an obituary than a political story.

With most attention focused on the state’s GOP presidential primary battle, and no Democratic primary for president, Kucinich was left in a low-turnout race in a newly drawn district against his once-close ally, Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio).

I don’t know anything about Marcy Kaptur, but if she was a “Close Ally” of Kucinich, she’s probably three fries short of a happy meal herself.

From his stint as Cleveland’s “Boy Mayor” in the late 1970s, including two debt defaults and the forced sale of the city’s electric plant, to his unsuccessful effort to impeach Vice President Richard B. Cheney in 2007, Kucinich has repeatedly thrust himself into the national spotlight. Often coming up on the short end of his fights, Kucinich, 65, never stopped swinging but usually did so in a friendly spirit.

See? This does read like an obituary. Granted, Kucinich’s political career is probably over, (Thank God!), but still Mr. Kane, you could at least pretend to be objective.

Kucinich is a classic Marxist. He was utterly unfit to hold any elective or appointed office. He destroyed Cleveland as mayor and his antics in Washington put this country at risk.

His defeat, according to lawmakers, was the latest development in a process that is making Congress a more sanitized, less colorful place. Some of the institution’s most original characters are either retiring or losing reelection battles, in part because their positions or personalities are so easy to caricature. Reps. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Norm Dicks (D-Wash.), for example, have announced their retirements.

Barney Frank is the one primarily responsible for the economic mess we are in now. If there were a single iota of honesty, integrity and justice, Frank would now be in a prison for the damage he has done to this country. He has used his office for personal gain many times and has also used ot to destroy people he didn’t like. I will not miss him when he is out, and hopefully, we will get an attorney general that will investigate both him and Christopher Dodd. I’m not holding my breath of course. I don’t know anything about Norman Dicks so I won’t comment on him.

One of the reasons Kucinich lost was his talk of moving to Washington State and running for office there. This didn’t play well in Ohio.

Kaptur compared his consideration of leaving Cleveland to the mid-1990s move by the city’s beloved football team, the Browns, and the 2010 departure of NBA superstar LeBron James — two psychic blows still deeply felt in a place that bills itself as the “Sixth City” even though it’s fallen to the country’s 45th largest in the last 50 years .

“Looks like next in line to abandon us is Dennis Kucinich,” Kaptur’s narrator said in a radio ad.

THAT had to leave marks.

All I can say is, good riddance to bad trash. Kucinich should have been strung up years ago, but I’ll accept his being booted out of congress. Now, the Republicans just need to run someone against Kaptur and crush her like a bug on a windshield. 😉
