Harry Reid: Utter Boob part 192

Good evening. I was looking around for something to write about and I came across yet another instance of Harry Reid putting politics ahead of the country.

This time he is blocking the fast track an amendment that will green light the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada. This would create thousands of jobs in the construction phase and help our energy situation. Instead of shipping money to the Arabs we would be buying the oil from Canada and they actually buy things from us.

Here’s the story from Politico:

The White House and Democratic leadership squeaked out a 56-42 vote on an amendment to the Senate’s highway bill, winning only because 60 votes were needed for passage.

President Barack Obama had personally lobbied Democrats with phone calls urging them to oppose the measure, as Republicans continue to push the pipeline as a job-creating project needed in these days of high gasoline prices.

Here we have proof that Reid cares nothing about the needs of America, only about keep his boney ass in the United States Senate and keeping the Majority Leaders chair. The United States needs this pipeline along with opening all the oil and natural gas fields we have available, both on shore and off shore.

Not all Democrats backed the Liar in Chief and his flunky, Diingy Harry Reid though.

Eleven Democratic senators crossed party lines to support the amendment: Max Baucus of Montana, Mark Begich of Alaska, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, Kent Conrad of North Dakota, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Jon Tester of Montana, and Jim Webb of Virginia.

To be honest, a lot of these bozo’s that are up for reelection are in deep trouble. Several have already announced they aren’t going to seek reelection, primarily due to the fact they know they will lose. They know that the overwhelming majority of the people want this pipeline and they want to start drilling for oil and gas anywhere we can find it.

So what would this amendment have done?

The amendment, proposed by Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) would have approved the pipeline despite an undetermined final route through Nebraska, cutting out the State Department approval normally required for an international pipeline.

And why would Senator Hoeven and the other Republican want to bypass the State Department? Primarily due to Hillary Clinton and secondarily due to the large number of “Workers” in the State Department who have forgotten their duty is the the United States, and NOT the United Nations. Of course, the Obama Administration had a ready excuse for wanting this project stopped.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the administration’s message is clear that it wants TransCanada to submit a proposal for a new route in Nebraska. Congress should “not waste its time with ineffectual sham legislation that has no impact on the price of gas and is irresponsible because it … tries to legislate the approval of a pipeline for which there is not even a route,” Carney said earlier Thursday.

Carney is a liar. There is nothing else to say. This arrogant little punk is nothing more than a treasonous piece of manure who makes Baghdad Bob look like the height of accuracy. The real reason Obama, Reid and the others have been throwing one roadblock after another into this project and all the others is simple. They are making sure their cronies get ahead and that the American people suffer.

Reid needs to be removed from the Majority Leaders seat, and preferably sent to prison. If the Leadership of the Party of Stupid had backed and aided Reid’s opponent, there is a fair chance he would be out of office right now. But she wasn’t “One of them” and so they did everything they could to sink her election. (Thanks a lot Karl Rove, you useless scum sucking worm)

Now, I would get on the phone and call every single member on the Democrat side who voted against this and register your displeasure with them. If they are up for reelection, work to send them down to crushing defeat.
