Democrats: Raise Taxes or else

The Washington Post has a story this morning that has the Democrats threatening to collapse the United States Economy if they don’t get to hike taxes to confiscatory levels.

This threat, by Senator Patty Murray, (Communist: Wash) shows just how little the Democrats care about their oaths of office, the economy of the United States or much of anything else but absolute power. Here are some of the details from the Washington Post article:

Democrats are making increasingly explicit threats about their willingness to let nearly $600 billion worth of tax hikes and spending cuts take effect in January unless Republicans drop their opposition to higher taxes for the nation’s wealthiest households.

Right now, the “Wealthiest Americans” pay most of the taxes in this country. The levels have reached the point where people are fleeing the country and surrendering their U.S. Citizenship ((Giving Up Citizenship, and the Taxes That Come With It)).

Emboldened by signs that GOP resistance to new taxes may be weakening, senior Democrats say they are prepared to weather a fiscal event that could plunge the nation back into recession if the new year arrives without an acceptable compromise.

That would be the two spineless cowards, McConnell and Boehner. The Establishment Republicans are terrified that they might actually have to do something that might possibly give the NDSWP a talking point. Why, they might possibly, just maybe, lose the election and have to leave their warm comfy offices.

To continue with Murray’s threats:

“If we can’t get a good deal, a balanced deal that calls on the wealthy to pay their fair share, then I will absolutely continue this debate into 2013,” Murray plans to say, according to excerpts of the speech provided to The Washington Post.

If the tax cuts from the George W. Bush era expire and taxes go up for everyone, the debate will be reset, Murray is expected to say. “Every proposal will be a tax-cut proposal,” according to the excerpts, and Republicans would no longer be “boxed in” by their pledge not to raise taxes.

“If middle-class families start seeing more money coming out of their paychecks next year, are Republicans really going to stand up and fight for new tax cuts for the rich? Are they going to continue opposing the Democrats’ middle-class tax cut once the slate has been wiped clean? I think they know this would be an untenable political position.”

No you communist bitch, it will be the Democrats fault. You wouldn’t allow these tax cuts to be made permanent after the most violent and destructive attack on the United States since Pearl Harbor. You and the others didn’t care that the economy had a $1+ TRILLION dollar hole blown in it when the World Trade Center was destroyed and 3000 Americans and resident aliens were butchered.

Now the Republicans have been trying to make the cuts permanent, or at least extend them long enough to put together a real overhaul of the tax code. However, the most corrupt and incompetent Senate Majority Leader in the last century, (That would be Harry Reid, D-Caesars Palace), not only won’t support this, he has actively thwarted any plan to extend the cuts or do anything to help the economy get back on track. He’s actually done just the opposite. Caused the economy to collapse so he and the others in the NDSWP can hold on to and increase their power.

The speech comes less than a week after Obama assured Hill Democrats during a White House meeting that he would veto any attempt to maintain the Bush tax cuts on income over $250,000 a year, according to several people present. It also echoes the dismissive response by Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) to Republicans seeking to undo scheduled reductions in Pentagon spending that even Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta has said would be “devastating” to national security.

The Democrats don’t care. In what passes for their minds, if they can’t have everything their own way, they will destroy the country. For to long, the RINO Establishment Republicans have let them do this. However, they might just be starting to wake up and understanding what could happen if they let the Democrats win again.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has lambasted the Democrats’ position as an “outrageous ultimatum.”

“At a moment when the American people are reeling from the slowest recovery in modern times .?.?. and just five months away from the economic body blow that will result if tax rates spike, as scheduled, on January 1st, the president’s solution is to take more money away from the very business folks we are counting on to create the jobs that we need,” McConnell said in a speech Thursday on the Senate floor. “Naturally, Republicans oppose this. The way we see it, nobody should see an income tax hike right now.”

McConnell and Boehner are still trying to figure out what is going on in the country. They’ve been in office way to long and have been “Reaching across the aisle” far to often. Frankly, they both need to be sent to the back bench next year regardless of the election. They can’t be trusted to put the nation and the taxpayers first. However, that is a post for another day.

This is a very risky strategy for the Democrats, and if the Republicans had any brains at all, they would use this in campaign ads both for Mittens as well as the down ticket races.

The term “fiscal cliff” refers to the sharp drop in the 2013 budget deficit that would result from policies in current law. Thanks to a deal Obama cut with Republicans in 2010, the Bush tax cuts — and dozens of other tax provisions — are set to expire in December, raising taxes for virtually every U.S. household next year.

Meanwhile, during the debt-limit showdown last summer, lawmakers approved a plan to implement $110 billion in automatic spending cuts next year. A legislative “supercommittee” appointed to find an alternative deficit-reduction strategy disbanded without reaching agreement.

Republicans say Democrats are responsible for the impasse, noting that GOP members on the supercommittee offered to raise revenue through an overhaul of the tax code.

“We were on the record saying we would agree to a conventionally scored tax increase if they would clear out the tax code, make it fairer, flatter and simpler and begin to take us off the road to bankruptcy on entitlements. And they weren’t willing to do it,” said Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Tex.), the GOP supercommittee chairman.

The Progressives are utterly opposed to anything that might simplify the tax code. It would mean they couldn’t threaten people they don’t like with prison on tax evasion charges. Of course, the usual suspects in the Party of Stupid are ready to cave.

Given the stakes, some Republicans are rethinking their opposition to higher taxes. In recent days, Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and other GOP defense hawks have been talking with Democrats about raising cash by “closing loopholes” to replace scheduled military cuts.

“If you said ‘John McCain, are you for increasing taxes?’ the answer is still no,” McCain said, pointing to federal subsidies for ethanol as an example of a loophole that could be closed without “raising taxes.” He added, “We get into such semantics.”

I, for one, wouldn’t trust McCain as far as I could throw his old A-4 Skyhawk ((Douglas A-4 Skyhawk)). He has been one of those “Cross the Aisle and bend over” types for years. Arizona had the chance to boot the loser from office this year but wimped out. It isn’t going to matter of course.

Democrats have shown little interest in a deal, however, preferring to keep the spending cuts in place as an additional point of leverage for the post-election fight.

That’s good strategy, said Erskine Bowles, the Democratic chairman of Obama’s deficit-
reduction commission, who is still trying to build support for a framework to raise taxes, overhaul entitlement programs and rein in the national debt.

“You got two guns: One is the tax cuts, and the other” is the spending cuts, Bowles said in an interview. “Until I can get a framework agreed to, I wouldn’t holster those guns,” he added.

Bowles was on the Blue Ribbon commission to provide ideas to balance the budget and fix the mess we’re in. It basically came down to massive tax hikes. Even Der Fubar has been ignoring them.

Getting back to Comrade Murray, I did a little research on her. As we all expected, she has never held a real job in her life, and what little work she has done is surprisingly similar to the ScoaMF’s career. Here’s a few details from the woefully lacking Wikipedia article on her:

As a citizen-lobbyist for environmental and educational issues, she says she was once told by a state representative that she couldn’t make a difference because she was just a “mom in tennis shoes”. The phrase stuck, and she later used it in her successful campaigns for Shoreline School District Board of Directors (1985–1989), Washington State Senate (1989–1993), and United States Senate (1993 –present). Murray was successful in gathering grassroots support to strike down proposed preschool program budget cuts.

Her 1988 State Senate campaign was successful and she unseated incumbent Republican Bill Kiskadden.

In other words, a typical Statist totalitarian pig. She won’t be defeated when she comes up for reelection of course. She represents a state that is sinking into the morass of financial oblivion, albeit not as fast as California.

Remember in November!

Hold the Republicans feet to the fire and vote out the ones who caused the problems we now face!
