In the latest “Oops!” from the DNC

Good day all. With all the news regarding the events in Libya and Egypt, yet another embarrassment to the Democrats was pointed out today. It seems that during a speech by Admiral John Nathman, (retired), paying tribute to veterans, a backdrop of four warships was posted behind the Admiral.

Just one small problem. They were Soviet warships, not American warships. It wasn’t just Admiral Nathman, but another Navy veteran, John “Liveshot” Kerry also addressed the convention with the picture behind him.

Now I won’t say they should have noticed. I doubt they even glanced at the backdrop as they gave their speeches. However, someone should have noticed this. Yeah, I know. It’s the Democrat Party. If it’s in uniform, it’s evil and needs to be ignored. The person who did notice this was a Navy veteran who was watching at home.

Here are a few details from the Navy Times:

“I was kind of in shock,” said Rob Barker, 38, a former electronics warfare technician who left the Navy in 2006. Having learned to visually identify foreign ships by their radars, Barker recognized the closest ship as the Kara-class cruiser ((Kara Class Cruiser)) Kerch.

Oh it gets better. It seems that the pictures in question also showed a large white flag with a blue ‘X’ at the ships’ sterns. American ships fly the Stars and Stripes on the stern, not the ensign of the Russian Navy.

Based on this specific group of these ship types, one naval expert concluded that this was most likely a photo of the Black Sea Fleet.

“Ships are all Black Sea Fleet,” A. D. Baker III, a retired Office of Naval Intelligence analyst, told Navy Times after looking at the image. “These four ships, at the time the photo was taken, constituted the entire major surface combatant component of the Black Sea Fleet,” Baker said, noting the photo was likely to be six years old or older. (The Kerch is now on the list to be scrapped, Baker said.

As I said, Oops!! Actually, I think this was a Freudian slip by the Democrat Nation Committee. They always wanted to be part of the old Soviet Union and were greatly saddened when it collapsed in 1991.

Well, at least the managed to avoid putting the wrong music up thinking it was the United States Navy. They might have played this one:

Nope, it’s a good thing they didn’t try to add music to the picture. Now that would have been REALLY embarrassing! Nut not as embarrassing as that 3am phone call Obama keeps getting.
