Obama: Let’s party like it’s 1979!

Good day all. Are any of you old enough to remember having flashbacks to 1979 yet? I am. Over the last few years, there have been many comparisons between Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama’s handling of the economy. Now we’re seeing a virtual repeat if Iran in 1979.

For those of you who don’t remember, allow me to bring you up to date. By 1979, the economy was trashed, inflation was through the roof and the Shah of Iran had been driven out by Radical Islamic Fundamentalists led by Ayatollah Khomeini. The Shah’s exit was pushed along by Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Later in the year, the Shah was admitted into the United States for surgery. This triggered the takeover of the American embassy and the holding hostage of the staff for 444 days ((Iran hostage crisis)). I remember that disgrace like it was yesterday. There was ABC News’s Ted Koppel on after the late news every night saying “The Iran Crisis—America Held Hostage: Day xxx!”

Carter’s utter incompetence showed through almost from day one. Rather than outright threaten Iran, he hemmed and hawed and looked for a diplomatic solution. The problem was, the criminals running Iran, (Basically the same ones or their children that are running it today), had no interest in diplomacy. They wanted two things from the United States. The Shah handed over to them so they could kill him and the utter humiliation of Carter. They didn’t get the former, but they did get the latter.

Carter finally gave up and sent in the military. This resulted in the disaster known as “Desert One ((Operation Eagle Claw)).” The only good things to come out of the Iran fiasco was the election of Ronald Reagan and what came to be known as “The Canadian Caper ((Thank you Canada for the Canadian Caper)).”

Now we’re seeing a virtual repeat of what happened in 1979 on a far vaster scale with an even greater level of incompetence and stupidity. Unlike the Iranian hostage situation, Americans have been murdered. On the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States by Islamic terrorist, mobs in Egypt and Libya stormed the embassies and in Libya, murdered five Americans including the ambassador in Benghazi. This was after these goat molesting animals sodomized him.

As we have come to expect from King Putt’s maladministration, the first thing that happened was an apology to the RIF’s for some stupid video on YouTube. Someone posted a link to the video and I took a quick look at it. That’s several minutes I won’t be seeing again in my life. However, thanks to the Streisand Effect, this video, which probably would have been all but ignored, is now going viral. I’m not going to bother posting it here, but I will supply the link for you.

What a waste of bandwidth. Of course, all the Politically Correct moonbats on the left have promptly started blaming this video and one of it’s backers, Terry Jones, who is not known as a shrinking violet when it comes to slamming the PC Police, for inciting these riots and a few have demanded that Jones be arrested for murder ((Egyptian President, liberals say filmmakers, pastor should be arrested, punished)). As you might expect, the First Amendment means nothing to these morons. (Although I will give the terrorist in chief of Egypt a pass. I doubt he’s paid any attention to our Constitution at all)

In fact, Jones was called by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and asked to end his support for this film. This was absolutely over the top and General Dempsey should have known better. There are only two reasons he made that call. One, he was under direct orders, or he is a craven political coward. Personally, I think he was under orders.

Since the original riots, it’s come out that these were actually planned attacks and that they had been in planning for a while, certainly before the video had been released. These attacks were planned to coincide with 9/11 and had nothing to do with the video. That was just a handy excuse by the vermin in the Middle East.

Obama, as usual, will do nothing unless it helps his reelection bid. Carter was a complete incompetent buffoon but he wasn’t anti-American which Obama and most of his minions are. When the Hostage crisis started, Carter concentrated on that. Obama? He went off to Las Vegas to party with celebrities and beg for campaign contributions. It’s also come out that Der Fubar couldn’t be bothered to attend the daily intelligence briefings of the last few days.

Another memory of 1979 was the Marine Guards at the Embassies. In 1979. they weren’t permitted to use live ammunition. Guess what? It happened again! According to the Free Beacon:

U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.

So what blithering idiot issued that order?

Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson ((Anne W. Patterson)) “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”

I recall back in 1979 that Ambassadors handled security protocols on firearms. I had thought, after Iran and other attacks on embassies and personnel, that this had been changed. If it was, I guess it was changed back.

The U.S. ambassador to any nation ultimately decides whether Marines are authorized to carry ammunition, according to a GOP national security adviser knowledgeable about American embassy protocols.

“In the end, the ambassador of any country has the final call on what to do in a country,” the source said. “The buck stops with you. You make every decision.”

And in my opinion, Ambassador Patterson should be ordered home and summarily fired as incompetent. According to the Wikipedia article, she is a career State Department bureaucrat. In other words, fuzzy headed and not dealing with the real world. This isn’t to say that all the people who work at the State Department are morons, Diplomad, who recently retired, is one of those who actually understands how things work around the world.

I think it may be time to permanently remove this decision from the State Department. We should go back to the days when embassy guards, of all nations, would blast these slime right off the walls ((Siege of the International Legations)). Of course this would upset the poor Lilly-livered members of the Striped Pants Brigade ((Diplomats in Striped Pants)) would have a “Case of the Vapors” and faint dead away ((What are the Vapors?))

Of course, the SCoaMF will never allow that.

While Marines are typically relied on to defend U.S. territory abroad, such as embassies, these reports indicate that the Obama administration was relying on Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood-backed government to ensure American security, a move observers are questioning as violence in Cairo continues to rage.

Why not? We helped get them into power, just like we did with Khomeini in 1979. We also got the same results from that as well. Now do you see why I think we’re back in 1979? The only thing missing is the Killer Rabbit ((The Rabbit Incident)). I wonder if Bun-bun ((Bun-bun the mini-lop)) is available? Hopefully, like 1979-1980, Obama, like Carter will be handed his head and walking papers and sent into retirement.
