Joseph Biden’s guide to self defense

Over the last few weeks, we have seen one Progressive Democrat after the other denigrate the need for citizens to have guns to defend themselves from criminals. First, we have Colorado State Representative Joe Salazar, (D-Prize Winning Idiot), saying that women can’t be trusted with guns because they might shoot someone who they think is about to rape them.

Now we have Vice President Joe Biden, who is surrounded by heavily armed Secret Service Agents, (When they aren’t out stiffing hookers that is), offering his advice on self defense guns and how to use them. There was a video posted of Biden’s recommendations, which include things like “AR-15’s are to hard to use, so get a double barreled shotgun.” and “Fire a couple of warning shots from your porch.”

So, lets take a look at the advice Vice President Biden, (D-Dementia), has offered. First, it is generally illegal to fire warning shots. The reasoning for this is simple. You don’t know where the rounds, (Or in this case, the shot), is going to land. You might hit someone a mile away or damage property. Then there is the second problem. If you fire both barrels of a double barreled shotgun, you have just disarmed yourself. You need to break the action open, remove the two spent casing and slide in two fresh rounds of ammunition. This is not something you do quickly.

So, to recap, if you follow Vice president Joe Biden’s advice, you will:

1. disarm yourself after firing the warning shots.
2. Be jumped by the criminal and get raped, beaten and possible murdered.
3. If you survive the attack, you will be arrested for unlawful discharge of a firearm as well as any crimes that happen due to the shot hitting an innocent bystander or property

Of course, Shotgun Joe has even more sage advice when it comes to defending yourself. This comes from an interview he gave to Field&Stream:

F&S: What about the other uses, for self-defense and target practice?

V.P. BIDEN: Well, the way in which we measure it is—I think most scholars would say—is that as long as you have a weapon sufficient to be able to provide your self-defense. I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself.”

I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semiautomatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that’s true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, “Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me.” No one’s arguing we should make machine guns legal.

In case you’re wondering, shooting through a door is also against the law in pretty much every jurisdiction. There are exceptions of course, but they are done on a case by case basis with the burden of proof being on the one who shot through the door. The reason for this is simple. If you are using lethal force, and firing a gun at someone is potentially lethal, you had better be in fear of your life, or protecting your family and/or neighbors lives. (Another reason for no warning shots. It shows that you weren’t in imminent fear of your life if you have the time to fire a warning shot)

Now, Biden also claims that scholars say that as long as whatever you have does the job of providing your defense needs, that’s all you should get. (Paraphrasing of course. AW) I would love to know what scholars this boob is referring to. My guess is these are the scholarly voices in Biden’s head. Also, Biden states that no one is arguing to make machineguns legal. Excuse me Mr. Vice President, they already are. These are covered under the National Firearms Act and can be purchased by law abiding citizens. They are heavily regulated and taxed, and since 1986, no new ones have been allowed to be purchased, but they are legal to own. (Check the laws in your local and state jurisdictions).

Now, as to the choice of a shotgun for home defense? Shotguns do make excellent home defense weapons, but the double barreled models really aren’t that suitable for a number of reasons. The fact that they only hold two shots is one. The length of time to reload after you have expended your two rounds, and the length of the barrels of most double barreled shotguns. The standard double barreled shotgun can be over three feet long. The reason for this is that double barreled shotguns are designed for sporting purposes such as bird hunting or shooting skeet shooting. (Real skeet shooting, not the pretend skeet shooting Il Douche claims he does)

The exception to this is the Coach gun ((American Coach Gun)). These are generally much shorter then standard double barreled shotguns, but are still limited by the two rounds available and the time it takes to reload. There is no doubt that if an evil doer makes it into range, (Such as in your living room), and sees you pointing one of these at his midsection, he will think twice about coming at you. Of course, he could also duck to one side or back out of the room, and if you fire both barrels and miss, the evil doer can come back and do what ever evil he has in mind for you.

The recommended home defense shotgun is not a double barreled model. It’s either a pump action or semiautomatic action with a multi-round magazine. (Generally a tube under the barrel) If you need to use a shotgun for defensive purposes, you will have 5 or more rounds available depending on the shotgun. Additionally, for those who want to give a criminal a “Warning Shot”, there is nothing like the sound of a pump action shotgun being primed to loosen the bowels of pretty much everyone. There is no mistaking that CLICK-CLACK sound of the action being worked and a round being chambered.

Now there is a down side to using a shotgun for home defense. Shotguns do have a recoil, and if you haven’t fired one and aren’t prepared for it, you are going to be surprised.

Allow me to explain a few things to Vice President Joe “I just say whatever comes to mind” Biden. Shotguns are NOT all that easy to use. They have a heavy recoil, and if you aren’t used to it, man or woman, well, you saw the results. You can injure yourself. The AR15 fires a far lighter round and the recoil is much less then that of a double barreled 12 gauge shotgun. It also has greater range and you have 30 rounds to use if you need it. It’s also a lot quicker and easier to reload in a stressful situation. You know, a situation where a criminal is trying to rape, beat and/or murder you?

For those idiots who think you don’t need standard capacity magazines for pistols or rifles, try reading the news. You see incidents where a woman, (or man), gets involved in a shooting and ends up firing 10 or more rounds. There is the case of a woman in Georgia who had her home broken into while she was alone with her 9 year old twins.

The woman took her children and tried to hide from the home invader. He found them and she was forced to fire on him, hitting him 5 out of 6 shots fired. The criminal withdrew from the home, got in his car and started to drive away. Due to pain and blood loss, he crashed the car and collapsed. Here’s the issue for this incident. The mother did what she had to do, and did it well. However, she did not drop the criminal and she was out of ammunition. If there had been a second criminal, or if the now wounded criminal had decided to press the attack, more than likely, she would be dead. (FYI, someone take this lady to Vegas. She bluffs like a master poker player)

Every few days, you hear another report where a citizen uses a firearm, (Rifle or Pistol) with a capacity more then the Progressive Liberal, Anti-woman, Democrats, (Such as Joe Biden), think you should have. There is one and only one reason the Progressive, Liberal, Pro-Rapist Democrats want to suppress the Second Amendment rights of the American People.

Power.

They have been working towards the creation of a totalitarian state run by the Progressive, Liberal, Anti-freedom Democrats for over 150 years. The one thing that is stopping them from tearing up the Constitution is the number of people who are armed and are willing to use those guns to defend their rights. The Statist Elites don’t want to think about it, and try to deny it, but the reason for the Second Amendment is quite simple. It gives the American People the tools they need to remove a government, at whatever level, by force if necessary. In what passes for Slow Joe Biden’s mind, if all someone has is a double barreled shotgun with an effective range of 40-100 yards and a slow rate of fire, then the Progressive Liberal Elitist Democrats goon squads can easily handle them.
