The IRS hates American Veterans

Good day all. In one of the Friday news dumps, it’s coming out that the IRS was also going after the American Legion.

For those of you who don’t know, the American Legion is a social and mutual-aid veterans’ organization including members of the United States armed forces ((The American Legion)). Apparently the IRS has been going after them they way they’ve been going after the conservative and Tea Party groups. Here are the details from Fox News:

The veterans’ service group says it recently learned about a so-called IRS “audit manual” that requires American Legion posts to keep dates of service and member records or perhaps face a $1,000-a-day fine, according to The Daily Caller.

This is information that the IRS is NOT entitled to. Now, going over to the The Daily Caller:

The Internal Revenue Service is targeting the veterans’ organization the American Legion, and a U.S. senator believes that Lois Lerner — a key figure in the IRS scandal – is to blame.

“The IRS now requires American Legion posts to maintain dates of service and character of service records for all members… The penalty for not having the required proof of eligibility is, apparently, $1,000 per day,” the American Legion stated.

The American Legion was referring to a 13-part section of Part 4, Chapter 76 of the Internal Revenue Manual pertaining to “veterans’ organizations.”

The section falls under “Exempt Organizations Examination Guidelines,” which is the jurisdiction of Exempt Organizations head Lois Lerner, who apologized for improperly targeting tea party groups and tried to plead the Fifth Amendment in a congressional hearing.

I’m not up on where Learner’s attempt to plead the 5th ((The Fifth Amendment (Amendment V) to the United States Constitution)) is currently. There is discussion that when she shot her mouth off during her testimony, she waived her right. From everything that is coming out, she was right to plead the 5th.

“The American Legion has recently learned of the so-called IRS ‘audit manual’ and is concerned that portions of it attempt to amend statutes passed by Congress and approved by the president,” American Legion legal counsel Philip Onderdonk, Jr. told The Daily Caller.

The IRS has long considered itself to be the law. Congress? They are an annoying worm as far as they are concerned.

“Resolutions recommending action by the Legion’s legislative division on two of the most egregious sections of the IRS document are being presented for a vote by members at The American Legion’s annual national convention in Houston [this] week. If the resolutions are adopted, the Legion will be empowered as a body to urge correction of the veterans service organization-related portion(s) of the IRS manual and suggest congressional review of the entire 38 section IRS document,” Onderdonk said.

There is more and more congressional interest in cleaning up the mess in the IRS.

“On the heels of Americans’ anger over revelations that the IRS intentionally targeted certain groups, it has been brought to my attention that the IRS is now turning their sights toward our nation’s veterans,” Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran said. “The IRS seems to be auditing veteran service organizations by requiring private member military service forms.”

“If a post is unable or not willing to turn over this personal information, it’s possible they could face a fine of $1,000 per day,” Moran continued.

“I am deeply concerned about this revelation and will insist on answers. This policy seems to be crafted with the oversight of Lois Lerner and deserves, at a minimum, a thorough look to make certain the IRS is not overstepping bounds of privacy and respect for our nation’s heroes,” Moran added.

Please, these are Progressive Liberal Democrats being run by an administration that considers American military veterans to be a bigger threat then the Taliban and Al Qaeda. If you think King Putt and Eric “I love dead Mexicans” Holder to actually prosecute the managers in the IRS who did this? Think again.

The IRS along with many other agencies have morphed into totalitarian departments similar to the Soviet KGB ((Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti)) and the Nazi Gestapo ((Geheime Staatspolizei)). Soon, thanks to McConnell and Boehner’s soon to be announced cave in, Obamacare will be fully funded and the IRS will be in charge of determining who shall live and who shall die. I wonder if any of these idiots recall that the American Revolution started as a tax rebellion that got as little out of hand. As each new revelation of tyrannical actions by the various agencies, along with the utter contempt for the Constitution and Rule of Law by The SCoaMF, people are thinking it may be time to utilize the 4th box of Liberty ((The four boxes of liberty)). The problem is, the morons in Washington are so dense and so bubblized ((Living in a bubble)), they don’t have a clue what is coming.
