Good day all. With the federal government sort of shut down, workers considered “Nonessential” have been sent home. Of course, they will still get paid later on for not showing up, but that something for another day.
No, what really interests me is that something on the order of 93% of the workforce for the Environmental Protection Agency has been declared nonessential. According to Breitbart:
More than nine out of every ten employees at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are considered “non-essential” and have been furloughed in the federal government’s shutdown.
Reuters obtained an EPA guidance in which the agency said it would “classify 1,069 employees, out of 16,205, as essential,” which is about 6.6% of the agency’s workforce, in the event of a government shutdown, which occurred on Tuesday.
The guidance also reportedly said that “most workers at the Office of Air and Radiation, which is in charge of writing and implementing most of the EPA’s major air pollution rules,” would be furloughed, which will tighten the various deadlines facing the agency.
So, I guess the question is, if only 1,069 employees are essential, then why do we have all these others on the federal payroll? The EPA, as I have discussed many times in the past, is an agency that is out of control. Now I think I can see why. There are 15,136 people sucking at the public trough with nothing to do but harass the American People.
Well, it’s nice to see that Der Fubar has determined which employees of the EPA should be permanently laid off. I wonder when that will happen? *Crickets Chirping*
