Progressives and the First Amendment

Good day all. I saw this little story last week and haven’t had time to go though it until now. The story regards legislation by 13 members of the Democrat Progressive Moonbat caucus to research “Hate Speech” on the internet.

One of the big things Progressives love to do is punish thought. This is the only reason for the existence of so called “Hate Crimes.” If someone commits a crime, usually White on Black, the progressive instantly call it a hate crime and demand greater levels of punishment. Now, I have no problem with punishing criminals, but frankly, I don’t care why they did it. (Assuming a crime against a person) If they robbed, raped, beat or murdered someone then they deserve the maximum punishments allowed by law and the Constitution. This nonsense about what they were thinking is nothing more then an excuse by the Progressive Liberal Democrats Racists Elites to punish what they consider to be incorrect ways of thinking.

Now, as mentioned, a bunch of criminals Liberal Congressmen are trying to push through legislation to investigate “Hate Speech” on the internet and other areas used to spread ideas. Here are the details from The Hill:

The Hate Crime Reporting Act, H.R. 3878, is meant to update a 20-year-old study from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). That study, delivered to Congress in 1993, looked at hate speech on radio, TV and computer bulletin boards.

Jeffries says the NTIA needs to see how hate speech is transmitted over the various new modes of communication that have sprung up over the last two decades.
“The Internet is a wonderful vehicle for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship,” he said. “But it can also be used as a platform to promote hate and target vulnerable individuals.

“This legislation will mandate a comprehensive analysis of criminal and hateful activity on the Internet that occurs outside of the zone of the First Amendment protection.”

And that last sentence is all you need to know with regards to what the Progressive Democrats have in mind. There is basically no limit on the rights of free speech with a few very narrow exceptions, such as yelling “FIRE!” in a crowd where there isn’t one and causing a panic. If all you are doing is making a complete ass of yourself with nonsense about how “White People” are superior, (Or Black People are superior), then you are free to do so. You can come up and spew the most vile of crap you want. I don’t have to pay any attention to you.

His legislation requires the NTIA to update its report to examine how the Internet and mobile phones can be used to encourage and commit hate crimes based on race, gender, religion and sexual orientation. The NTIA would also have to recommend a way to address these actions “while respecting the important protections of the First Amendment.”

What this Moonbat has in mind would require outright censorship. Considering the average liberal’s utter contempt for anyone who doesn’t think the way they do, and their constant attempts and suppression of free speech, you know they will want to use the results of this “Research” to go after anyone they don’t like.

As you might expect, the usual suspects on the left are all in favor of this bill and what it may entail down the road.

“As the use of the Internet and the ever-expanding variety of social media tools used by these groups continues to grow and evolve, we need to have a better idea of what they are doing and how they are doing it,” said Hilary Shelton, the director of the NAACP’s Washington Bureau. The National Organization for Women also supports the bill. “We hope that the study will address continuing hate speech that vilifies women seeking reproductive health care as well as websites that encourage violence against healthcare providers at women’s clinics which we believe have led to the injuries and death of clinic personnel and volunteers,” NOW said in an official statement.

Now these two groups are run by some of the most hateful and bigoted individuals around. The NAACP used to be a great and needed organization when there was real racism and civil rights violations. Now, they do nothing but push their own version of racism and segregation. The National Organization of Whiners Women have always been a collection of man haters and ugly who, if they stood naked on a dock when a US Navy carrier come into port after a one year deployment, would cause the crew to mutiny and force the captain to take them back out to sea.

What this bill shows is just how the Progressive Liberal Elitist thinks. (If you can call what goes on inside their heads “Thinking”) They refuse to hold the individual responsible for his or her actions and would rather blame entire groups. These groups generally are White with Asians running a close second. With “Special” groups of “Historically deprived” people, (That would be those of recent African decent), you won’t see any prosecutions with regards to so called “Racial Attacks.” In fact, you will see outright coverups and free passes given to members of these “Historically deprived” groups. This is why you won’t see any perpetrators of the “Knockout Game” being prosecuted for “Hate Crimes” even though they freely admit they are only attacking “Whitey.”

We need to put an end to this crap about “Hate Crimes” and “Hate Speech” and punishing the group for the actions of individuals. The way to end the denigration of groups by idiots is education. The first groups we need to start with are the Progressive groups such as the NAACP, The National Organization of Women and the Democrat Party. These are three of the biggest collection of hateful people I know of. This bill should be laughed out of committee and into the nearest trash receptacle. Of course, with our current croup of cowards in the House, I fully expect this to come to the floor.
